Round 2 was nowhere near as straightforward or organised as two weeks ago. With 10 minutes to go I found myself crawling under cupboards trying to grab a scruff, a paw, anything! Followed by coaxing with softly softly words across the garden before getting close enough to pounce! Eventually we got there and we are vaccine ready. Completed passports sent off to the animal transport people to do their thing and now we wait 🤞🏼 🐱 🐱 🐱 🐶

A little update as I commence the last of the walks with all my gorgeous regulars 😢

6th June - Cassandra Cadman will take over all walks. I will keep daycare and sleepovers.

1st July - Cass will move into the business full time.

To keep things simple you can still contact me for all bookings until the end of June.

I absolutely deserve a medal for getting this bunch to the vets today for their pre-flight rabies jabs. Their appointment was 9.45am, that’s an ETERNITY for outdoor cats to have to stay in!! Then I have to creep around and close them into rooms where there are NO hiding places, because as soon as they hear those crates - BOOM!! Cat Houdini!! On top of that our front door is out of action so bleating away, off I went the long way round the house and into the car and that was before all the coaxing and holding them still 😮‍💨 Mission complete 💪🏽🏅 Back in two weeks for round two!

NEW OWNER ANNOUNCEMENT!!

I’m absolutely thrilled to be announcing Pads n Paws will have a new captain at the helm. The wonderful Cassandra Cadman - Cass to all who know her, will be taking over from me. Many of you already know Cass as she has been amazing at providing support and holiday cover. Cass lives in Bramshott and is probably more bonkers about furries and fluffies than I am.

We’re still working out the exact dates but expect to see the both of us in May and June until she moves into the business full time.

If you haven’t met Cass yet and would like to please let me know.

ANNOUNCEMENT

To all my Lovely Customers

This summer myself, my family and all our animals will be moving to Bahrain for the next phase of our travels. Whilst we knew there was likely to be another overseas move we hadn’t expected it to happen this year. As things stand we don’t know how long we’ll be away, but we do know we’ll be back in Bramshott sometime in the future. We love it here!

As so many of you rely upon Pads ‘n’ Paws for your petcare and with you uppermost in my mind I’ve been trying to find someone new (and just as fabulous!) to take over the business. I’ve interviewed lots of potential owners in the last few months and I’m hoping to be able to have someone in May. However, if that doesn’t happen I will be finishing up and closing the business at the end of June.

I’ll be so sad to say goodbye (for now, never say never) to your gorgeous fluffies. Building relationships with them has been very special indeed and my regulars have become great buddies with each other. I’ll also be sad to say goodbye to you, my wonderful customers who trust me every day to look after your very special cargo.

If you know of anyone who may be interested in taking over please do let me know. Otherwise expect further communication in a few weeks time on the direction of the business.

GROOMING COLLECTION SERVICE

Cat grooming day 😖, they growl, hiss, scratch and bite. I’m the worse Mummy ever! But between Julia at Glorious Grooms and myself holding paws and tails and lots of gentle talk we get there in the end. She’s absolutely brilliant and has recently moved to a great location in Lindford.

Hit me up if you’d like your cat or dog collecting and taking to the groomers. Let them get cross with me instead 😂!!

Sniffaries. Social media for your canine!

Did you know just 20-30 minutes of a slow sniff walk is so mentally stimulating for a dog it can be just as tiring as an hour’s trott on the lead? It’s their way of gathering information and data; who, where, when and what.

So if you just don’t feel like heading out for long during these winter months all you need is a long lead and a bench or log to perch on every now and again. Then it’s home for treats all round 🫖 🦴

Remember for us it’s about the destination. For them it’s all about the journey 🐕
