Thank you to everyone who supported over the celebration weekend 💙🐾 Even with the windy weather and a few broken banners and gazebos… we survived and had fun!! 😂 well done to everyone who took part in my ‘Guess the number of treats game’, there was some close guesses!!! The correct number of treats in the jar was 608!!
Congratulations to Trisha and her son, David, for being the closest!! 🐾✨🎉

Today, I had the absolute pleasure of being able to teach the 2nd year student Veterinary Nurses at the Greenmount campus of Discover CAFRE 🐾

I was able to give a quick breakdown of everything physio and help create awareness of this when working in a veterinary practice 🐶🐴

We worked through everything and then were able to enjoy putting the skills into practice with the help from the students’ dogs! 💕💕

🐾 Some of you may know that I had my own dog, Toby, learning agility over the past few weeks!! 🐾We were completing our foundation course at Beechgrove Doggy Fun Park, Behaviour & Training Centre 💕 I cannot recommend them enough, they were amazing!

🌟 Toby was an absolute super star, the progress over the 6 weeks was unbelievable 🌟 we had a few hiccups at the start, battling hormones at his adolescent age 🥺 but we made it, where we were able to do a small agility course off lead!!! 🙊

🔹 When we are exercising our dogs, we have to ensure effective warm up 🥵 and cool down 🥶techniques are happening!! We also need to be able to spot the signs of fatigue, so that we can stop ✋🏻

🐾 Toby was able to get star treatment, to ensure his muscles were in tip top shape. Just like us, dogs can suffer from soreness after working out… this is called delayed onset muscle soreness! ❗️ Physiotherapeutic massage and electrotherapies can reduce this pain 🐾

🐾 What is a veterinary referral form? 🐾

✨ A veterinary referral form needs to be filled out by YOUR veterinary surgeon, to allow for treatment to be carried out.

🐾 Why do I need a veterinary referral form? 🐾

**Under the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966, a veterinary physiotherapist is not allowed to treat any animal without having permission from your veterinary surgeon.**

🐶 Receiving this form gives permission to carry out the treatment needed to benefit your pet. 🐴

🐾 The form can be emailed to your veterinary clinic OR you can take it into your clinic. It can be found on our website, or by using the link provided below:

✨ Carrying out this process, will create a team between physiotherapist and veterinary surgeon. Ensuring the best treatment is being carried out!

✨ Gorgeous boy Tux enjoying his Physiotherapy treatment ✨

How chilled out does Tux look during his treatment!! 💕

🔹 Tux owner noticed that he was uncomfortable when chasing tennis balls 🎾 and had a limp in his front legs. She took him to the vet and is now receiving physiotherapy for a trapped nerve.

🐾 It is so important to keep watch on how your dog is moving ✨

✨ EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT FROM Beechgrove Doggy Fun Park, Behaviour & Training Centre ✨

✨ 𝗦𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗔𝗡𝗡𝗢𝗨𝗡𝗖𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 ✨

BEECHGROVE WILL NOT BE CLOSING FOR WINTER! 🎉

Yes, you read that right after 16 years of Beechgrove Doggy Fun Park operating seasonally we are delighted to announce that we will be continuing our services over the Winter months. ❤

Our schedule will certainly change over the Autumn/Winter months to allow us to continue to stay open and offer as much as we can within daylight hours.

We will be providing as many of our usual services as possible including:
🐾Playgroups
🐾Private Appointments
🐾Agility (Classes & 1-1)
🐾Scent Detection (Classes & 1-1)
🐾Breed Parties
🐾PLUS – Events (including Halloween & Christmas!)

To end the Summer season the Doggy Fun Park will be closing for a break from Monday 2nd - 16th October, and then reopening with our Winter Schedule in place. Schedules will be following shortly so that all activities can be pre-booked.

💙 Earlier in the year, Riley underwent surgery on her knee as one of the ligaments had torn 💙 she is now recovering very well!

✨ Physiotherapy is helping her achieve good motion throughout the joint again, as well as to help build her muscles 💕

🫶🏻 Physiotherapy can help with building muscle either post-operative, pre-operative or for general fitness 🐕💪🏻

💙 Mary Kate has been doing amazing through her physio and hydro at Aqua Dog Hydrotherapy💙

✨She underwent surgery to restore mobility to the hip, and is doing absolutely fabulous! ✨🥰

🐶Of course we have to have the cuddles during each session 🐕🐶💕
