Dante the Medium Poodle came to visit us today. He has travelled all the way from Hungary to live in Northern Ireland. His breeder has done a fabulous job with him having been professionally groomed numerous times before he left her and his new mummy is brushing and combing him every day, keeping him matt free to allow us to keep him in his show style ❤️ see you in 3 weeks wee man!

Good Morning Folks, we hope you are enjoying the warmer weather. 😀 🌞

Just a heads up, though, we are busy, we can not fit your dog in yesterday because it is all of a sudden too hot. Rudeness will not be tolerated and will result in an immediate refusal of future appointments. 🐶

We are currently booked up a few weeks in advance with our regular customers. This is why we recommend the grooming schedules we do, if you are routinely booked in every 4-8 weeks your dog is less likely to suffer when the weather gets too warm (or cold) as we are able to keep on top of the grooming for you and suggest slightly shorter or longer lengths at different times of the year.

Please note that deposits must be paid for all appointments. Any appointments without a deposit paid or rolling deposit on the account will be cancelled and offered to someone else. We are once again seeing an increase in people not paying and then not showing up. This is not acceptable. We have a waiting list for others requiring appointments. Please be courteous.

Humphrey, the Border Terrier, was in today for his groom - Swipe Right to see his Trans-Fur-Mation.

This little man was due to be handstripped, but unfortunately, we had to make the decision to clip him instead for his wellbeing and comfort.

I love handstripping, so giving in to clipping is always a last resort. Humphrey had quite a soft coat when he came for his first handstrip approximately 6 months ago. He has since been neutered, and unfortunately, the change in hormones has exaggerated this softness.

For his comfort, it was decided the kindest thing to do would be to clip him.

We think he looks awesome 👌 😎 See you soon, little dude!

⚠️ Recommended Grooming Schedules 📅

When we recommend a grooming schedule for your dog, we are not only doing so to provide your pet with the best care and to keep their coats matt free. But also to keep you happy as a pet parent by allowing us to complete the style you have asked for without going shorter/cutting matts out, etc.

By sticking to your recommended schedule, your pets groom is guaranteed to be much more enjoyable and comfortable but also take less time because their coats are healthy and in good condition.

If you do not stick to the schedule that we have recommended, you risk your pet getting matted and uncomfortable and having to go shorter at their next groom.

By sticking to our recommended schedules, you are being offered the best price we can provide for that service (think of it like a reward) . By going over the recommended schedule, you lose that privilege, and your groom price will be charged at the full price because it takes extra work and time for our pet professionals to put the shape/style back into your pets coat.

Please trust us! We have both been grooming almost 15 years each, and we know coat types and grooming time frames inside out. ❤️

Attention all pet owners! Due to the mild weather, "Flea Season" hasnt really went away. We have seen a few cases of fleas this year so far (although thankfully not as many as the middle of 2023!!) so this is just a quick post to remind you to keep on top of your Parasite Preventions! 🤓🐶

As we all know, our furry friends are not immune to pesky fleas. These tiny creatures can cause discomfort and irritation for our beloved dogs.

Unfortunately, Nutri Paw have decided to discontinue their wholesale program to small businesses like ourselves, meaning any customers must buy directly from them as we can no longer sell their product.

We understand that collecting a pot of these or their other products were handy while in for your groom, so bare with us while we find an equally good but alternative product to keep things easy for you guys.

We only have a few pots of these left, £34.95, please note its first come, first served we cannot hold these.

💩 A**l Glands 💩

Did you know our Experienced Groomers are trained in A**l Gland Expression? You can add a check onto your groom for only £5!

What are a**l glands?

The a**l glands are a pair of small sacs that sit just inside the dog a**s (bottom). They contain a strong-smelling liquid used for marking territory. Healthy a**l glands empty naturally when a dog poos, but if this doesn't happen, they can overfill and block.

Blocked a**l glands are irritating and painful, but often quick and simple for a trained professional to treat. Left without treatment, blocked glands can lead to more serious problems.

Never try to treat an a**l gland problem yourself; you could cause serious damage and pain. This is a job best left to our professional team or a vet.

Booking your preferred Groomer 👌

If you have a preferred groomer, we will not be offended if you ask for them specifically when you book in. 🙂

Just like one hairdresser will never cut your hair the same as another, we dog groomers have our individual styles and ways we do things.

Emma & Jeanette are both Qualified Groomers with High Standards but each with their own styles and personalities.

If you prefer one over the other, simply ask when booking. If you say it doesn't matter when you are asked, then make a complaint that one hasn't groomed your dog exactly the same way as the other... well, we can't do anything about that... we are individuals we are not the same person. 😊

Please note that we are also a high welfare salon. If we clip/shave your dog down short because it was matted, we have done so for the welfare of your dog!

We will always choose to clip older dogs and dogs with medical issues down short when there is extensive matting, as brushing out causes stress and can be painful. We will not put any dog through painful dematting no matter how "awful" you think they look afterwards!

If your dog is getting matted between grooms, we recommend a shorter style or bringing them in more often, we are more than happy to discuss your requirements and advise a suitable grooming frequency for your pet 😊

As with every change we make we are trying to make things as simple and streamlined as possible for our customers and pet professionals, if there is anything looks out of place at all or you need help, please PM us 😊

ℹ️ New Booking Policy ℹ️

Good Morning, unfortunately we have been forced to make a decision to take deposits for each booking made, which we started to implement this week.

Week in - week out our time is being disrespected, and for us, it is now critical that we enforce this new policy for the future of our small business

Over the last week alone, each of our Groomers have lost an average of 25% of their weekly income in no shows and late cancellations.

Can you imagine losing 25% of your income?

To make things more streamlined, we have switched to a new booking system. Deposits can be paid via a link sent to your email address or paid over the phone via card. Alternatively, you can drop cash in or pay card in the salon if you prefer. For block bookings, we can hold a rolling deposit/credit on your account for the year.

Please note that deposits must be paid within 48 hours of the request unless otherwise discussed at the time of booking, or else your appointment may be cancelled automatically by the system.

Appointments cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time or Monday appointments cancelled after noon on Saturday will forfeit their deposit and another deposit will be required to place another booking.

Online Booking will be available again later on today.

For those who appreciate the time and passion we have for our business, we thank you and can't express how much we appreciate you ❤️

Before and after, Winston groomed by Jeanette today at Groomers Got Talent Competition.

Unfortunately, there are no placings today for our team. Sadly, Winstons style wasn't quite what the judges were looking for in this class - which had the biggest entry on the day.

However, we are proud of Jeanette and her high standard of grooming & handling skills! Well Done Jeanette 👏

We are having a day off tomorrow and back in the salon on Tuesday when we will return all calls and messages, thanks to everyone for their support at this event.

What a cutie patootie! 💓

Little Peggy the Cavapoo came in today for a full groom and a 30min Ultrasonic Teeth Clean session. Look at her amazing results! 🤩

Once we have cleaned all the plaque and tartar off a 10mins maintainence clean at each grooming appointment (every 4-6 weeks), is perfect to keep a dogs dental hygiene in check.

She was such a good girl! See you soon Peggy! 🥰
