5 Reasons Why Hairy Rabbit Ears Are Good For Dogs......
So, let’s be honest, hairy rabbit ear don’t look the best.
To us humans, they can look too real and unpleasant. This puts a lot of dog owners off from trying snacks with fur. However, if you can get past this stage, the benefits of feeding your dog some hairy snacks every month could have some fantastic long-term benefits.

1 - Furry rabbit ears are actually exceptionally good for your dog. The fur covering the rabbit ears is actually classed as a source of fibre, and as we all know, fibre in the diet aids good digestive health…
2 - As fur is undigestible, it basically brushes its way through the digestive tract and helps to clear away food residue which can build up over time. This build-up of food residue can cause a sluggish digestive system, which can over time cause discomfort.
3 - Cleaning the digestive tract aids your dogs' body in absorbing most of the nutrients being ingested through the cell wall of the digestive tract. Clean digestive system = more nutrients absorbed.
The ‘brushing’ action of the fur also acts as a natural protection against worms by brushing away worms and eggs in the digestive system. To achieve maximum protection, it’s advised to feed regularly (we recommend one ear a week) PLUS it helps negate the need for harsh worming tablets if you combine natural wormers such as these with a worm count test once a year.
4 - The fur also aids in cleaning teeth too as it rubs a little of the surface plaque off the gums and between the teeth (without you needing to arm yourself with a toothbrush).
5 - Fibre/fur is great for bulking up poo. To naturally express the a**l glands (yuk but true), poo needs to be firm enough to press against the a**l glands as it passes through.

That’s right—our original Littleborough shop isn’t going anywhere, but we’re expanding to beautiful Todmorden with a brand new space that combines all your fave pet raw food supplies AND a cosy café for you (and your pup 🐶).

The paint is dry, the coffee plans are brewing, and our top employees Rufus & Truffle are busy getting everything just right.

Today we have been discussing Myths Surrounding Raw Feeding. One popular one that we are faced with quite often Is the salmonella Myth
Myth: My pet will get salmonella from raw meat.
Fact:
Salmonella can only survive in higher pH conditions (4-8+) and requires at least 12 hours to incubate. The hydrochloric acid in a carnivore’s stomach is a protective component against pathogens. Their stomach is highly acidic (about a pH 1) and their digestive system is short and lacks complexity. Bacteria is typically killed when ingested and passed within 4-6 hours as waste. Since the time to complete digestion is very short, the bacteria does not stay in the body for long. It is important to note that multiple dry foods and other commercial pet foods have been recalled for Salmonella and E. Coli as well.
