‼️This is not a post for shaming! This is a post to educate‼️ Matting... This post is to help people understand matting in dogs and to help guide you. I am seeing more and more dogs coming into the salon matted. The majority of breeds that are coming in matted are the poodle crosses for example, Cockerpoos , cavapoos , maltipoos ect . These breeds have a high percentage of the wool coat which NEEDS maintaining daily to prevent matting this also goes for ALL long haired breeds. Matting can cause several issues for your dog , skin problems , sores and irritation, it is very uncomfortable and can hurt your dog , and in more severe cases can actually cut off circulation to your dogs skin which will cause hematomas. De-matting your dogs is not nice for any groomer to do or for your pooch it is a slow process , matting is very tight to the skin so we have to use a short blade which will go under the matts and clip them away from the skin we also use a short blade to prevent cutting your dog. It can be very uncomfortable and stressful for your dog but I always reassure and comfort the pooch. And in any case of matting I will always clip off and will NEVER de-Matt your dog using a brush for you to have a "fluffy dog" this will cause pain and the pooches welfare is my priority and my only priority. 🐾Top Tips for helping prevent matting🐾 💜 Brush your dog daily using a slicker brush and comb brushing from the root of the hair outwards making sure that comb glides through the coat. 💜 Bathing , if your dog gets muddy/wet on a walk make sure you come home and bath your dog using good products and always remember to dry them completely ,leaving a wet dog to dry naturally can cause matts. 💜 Good products i use Peanut & Pickle I would definitely advice for you to use this brand and order a shampoo and conditioner for baths at home they also do amazing de-tangle sprays too use code CHARLOTTESPAWFECTIONGROOMINGSALON for 10% off. 💜 Regular grooming

I’m Charlotte the owner of Pawfection Grooming Salon based at my families farm in Littleborough.I am qualified with a City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming, were l achieved an over all Merit.I am also qualified as a Canine First Aider.

ABOUT CHARLOTTE......

I am experienced in caring & working around animals as i’ve grown up on our working family farm, were we have Pedigree cattle, sheep & shetland ponies which we breed and show,also my family own Stubleywood Canine Kennels a licenced dog breeders were we have been breeding health tested pups for the last 10 years. This is where my love of dogs has come from at a very early age, playing with all the gorgeous puppies and help care for them, I knew one day it was going to be inevitable l was going to work with dogs and this is why l have chosen dog grooming as my career. I love being with furry four legged friends everyday.
