Chloe here: I saw beautiful Daisy and her human last week. I gave Daisy her usual full groom and we keep her on a 6 week schedule to ensure that her fur doesn't get knotty. She gets a thorough brush through and I remove any knots as I go. She gets a sanitary trim to help her keep her back end clean, claws trimmed and eyes and ears cleaned.

After I finished with her grooming service I was given a card and present which I opened at home. It was such a lovely card and I appreciated it so much. Thank you to all of my lovely clients, I have loved working with all of you and I can't wait to see you and new clients in 2025. I hope you all have a lovely Holiday season.

Miss Cleo after her full groom yesterday. She’s prone to matting around her lower back but this has been lots better after showing which comb is best for her and getting rid of them. Her human bought her a herb pack as she’s always a big fan of valerian root after her sessions with me. What a lovely treat for Cleo 💜 I posted out the last packs today before the Christmas break but will be back selling them again in 2025.

Maine C**n Ares is very happy his new human sibling has finally arrived and is making the most of her bed and heat pad 😂💜 This is him waiting for his grooming session bless. I felt such a meanie moving him for his brush and tummy trim.

He’s prone to mats underneath, around his armpits and back legs and loves to sit outside in the rain so we keep him shorter underneath to manage this. He’s such a sweetie, he rolls over and stretches out his paws when it’s time to trim his stomach and sanitary area.

Chloe here: I saw lovely Izzy recently. She was adopted from a rescue by some lovely clients who were looking for a friend for their cat after his sister sadly had to be put to sleep. She's a lovely little kitten but very timid. As it was my first time meeting her we opted to have me just get her used to having her feet touched and with having her claws popped out. She uses her little claws to climb like a spider around furniture rather than up her humans. Despite her brother being rather dramatic about his claws she was a star and definitely made him look like a drama queen.

Me and Katie are both full before Christmas now but we are taking bookings for January 2025 so if your cat is in need of some extra love do get in contact with us.

This weeks blog post is written by Chloe. Can you believe she’s been grooming cats for just over a year now! Her and cats took to each other really quickly (she is so calm around animals) and it’s been great seeing her grow and learn over the last year. You can read the full blog at the link below.

Old man cat Harley needed a tidy up around his face and bottom where he is struggling the most. I loved watching him play with some catnip after our session 💜 so beautiful watching the older cats with health issues still being able to enjoy themselves and be a cat 🐈‍⬛

Chloe here: I saw Gorgeous Lexi recently for her grooming appointment. I haven't saw her for a while so I was rather surprised that less fur was combed out of her than usual, I still gave her a thorough comb to check for knots. I also gave her a sanitary trim because she's a fluffy girl, this helps to prevent anything from getting stuck when she goes to the toilet. I trimmed her nails and cleaned her eyes and her ears which she rather enjoyed.

Once she was done I offered her some Valerian which she quite enjoys after a groom and gave her some cuddles.

I have had a cancellation for Saturday the 21st of December and we are taking bookings for January 2025 so if your cat is in need of some extra love do get in contact with us.

Today I posted out a couple of herbal kit bags to some lucky felines. Thought I’d share a few recent pictures of cats interacting with different herbs they have selected to show the benefits of introducing them to your cat.

First is Emily having a snooze on hers, then Basil and George having a great time. Matilda chose to eat hers and Basil again having a good roll around after applying some natural flea powder as well. All kit bags contain 5 herbs with different properties and you use the process of self selection / zoopharmacognosy to offer them to your cats.

The last postage day I’ll be able to make is Thursday 19th December so you have another week if you’d like to order some as a gift is special treat for your beloved cats.

You can order through our online shop or DM us to bring one along to your cat’s grooming session.

Look at this face 💜 Nala is 5 months old and has been with her new family for just 10 days. They are doing a great job looking after her and asked me to come and remove some tight knots on her tummy. She wasn’t sure what to make of me and alternated being highly suspicious and confused that what I did felt good 😂

She’s a messy eater so needed a good trim under her chin as well as some tight knots and mats underneath and around her back legs (the usual hot spots). Her ears also needed a good clean and I’ve shown her family how to look after them. I hope to see her regularly and keep that fluffy coat in its best condition 👍🏻

Chloe here: I saw lovely Bailey for his regular claw trim yesterday, he's such a good boy for the whole process. When I get to his back legs I sit him on my lap so that I can trim his back claws without having to lift and move his legs as much, with older cats we're always careful in case they have arthritis and sore joints.

After his nails are trimmed he loves rolling in some Comfrey but this time he decided he wanted to have the bag my herbs are kept in too and didn't want to give it back to me, cheeky boy.

We have very limited slots before the end of the year and are taking bookings for January 2025.

This weeks blog post is all about Spookie who I’ve been working with for over a year now. He is in long term foster care and pretty much a foster fail 💜 this time of year is tough as many foster carers have time off for the holidays so do have a read and see if you can help out.

Apologies to all clients today but due to the (frankly biblical) weather we have had to cancel all appointments. Many trains are cancelled plus trees down on the roads and terrible driving conditions. Most importantly though this wind has been got even my cats on edge and it’s just not a good day to try and groom extra nervous cats. We are sorting new appointments for everyone this side of the holidays.

In the meantime, enjoy this wonderful picture of George I took yesterday helping himself to some water. I was there to groom his brother Basil and was told George was very nervous around people. He seemed to love me and my herbs though which made my day 💜🌿

Chloe here: I groomed lovely Billie on Tuesday. He's an older boy, at 17, and needs a bit of extra help managing his fur. He had knots along his front legs which could be from him dribbling on them while he was asleep, these were mostly able to be combed out however, I did have to clip a tighter one off. Afterwards I gave him a check over with the combs and used the clippers to give him a sanitary trim. This is to help him keep his bum clean as he is rather fluffy and he isn't as flexible as he once was to reach that area.

I trimmed his claws and cleaned his ears which he loved. He leaned into it while I was cleaning them and started trying to help me clean them. When speaking to his owner she told me that he had now found his voice which is definitely true as when I arrived he was shouting in the kitchen.

I still have some slots before the end of the year so if your cat needs some extra love do get in touch with us.

Minnie has the right idea on keeping warm in the colder weather and just loves her dad 💜 I felt like such a meanie having to move her to from her claws. She forgives quickly though so all is good.

Just a reminder (especially at this time of year when things are extra hectic) that we have a 48hr notice cancellation policy. If less than 48hrs is given you forfeit your £35 deposit or have a £35 cancellation charge. If you’ve booked in for a claw clip/sanitary trim then it’s the full cost of the service you’ve missed. We appreciate changes happen, but we can’t fill your slot at too short notice and we lose out. We send a reminder text 48hrs before so you get a reminder if something has changed to let us know.

Chloe here : I met lovely Rocco recently for his first groom. He's 13 years old and was rehomed to his new humans not too long before I met him. I gave him a thorough check over with the comb but I did need to use the clippers to remove some knots from his armpits which his humans had let me know about before I began. This is a hot spot for knots in long haired cats. I also gave him a sanitary trim to help keep his back end clean, trimmed his claws and cleaned his ears.

Afterwards he stayed on my lap and let me give him fusses while I talked to his humans and when he was ready he got up and went to eat his breakfast in the kitchen.

I still have some slots Friday and Saturday this week if your cat is in need of some extra love.

I got to meet lovely older boy Oolie (14) today for the first time. Him and his sister (13) were in need of a claw trim and are both seniors. Oolie in particular is such a love bug and wouldn’t let me leave until I’d given the correct amount of belly rubs 💜 if I stopped he would sit up and look at me with those beautiful blue eyes until I started again. Next visit I’m hoping to give him a sanitary trim to help keep his back end a bit more tidy 🤞🏻

Underneath all that fluff he is a very slim boy so I gave his human some tips to track his weight and keep an eye on his eating and drinking. Hyperthyroidism is always something to be aware of in older cats who are demanding food a lot but losing weight (my little Eris has it). A blood test can detect it and it’s easy to manage with medication plus there are other options.

Thanks for the lovely message afterwards which I’ve added a screenshot of 💜

About Me

For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to work with animals, specifically cats. I was brought up in a household with cats and have always felt a special affinity with them and am lucky to have four in my life at the moment. As a teenager I worked in a veterinary practice and spent a summer at Knowsley Safari Park while in sixth form as my childhood dream was to be a vet. I loved the work, but found the sadder aspects more difficult so decided to do my degree in Biochemistry and Neurobiology instead, for which I gained a 2:1. Around 2014 I became quite sick and had to stop working altogether to concentrate on my own health and wellbeing which gave me a chance to really think about what I wanted to do with the rest of my life.

I eased back into work as a cat sitter for The Cat Sit Company (a lot more demanding than I expected!) and dared to dream that I may be able to work with cats as a career after all.... I found that by looking after a range of different breeds, types and ages of cats and engaging with their owners, I became really interested in cat wellness and grooming which is what led me to researching cat grooming as a potential career. It seemed so right for me to study and I’m so excited to finally be doing my dream job. Alongside grooming I’m also studying an advanced diploma in Feline Behaviour to further understand and work with these adorably fascinating creatures. The wellbeing and health of cats will always be a priority and a passion for me and now I am ready to make this my life.

Who knew that ill health could lead to such a complete change happening in my life and that this would turn out in such a positive way, where I get to do what truly makes me happy!
