Such a beautiful morning at Zoomies Zone.
Our labs are starting the day with a swim
We are closing the Adventure Zone on Monday 8.00 am to 4.00 pm to carry out work in the pond - more planting, drainage and a path through the first gate
If you have already booked we can move you to another day or the Action Zone
Apologies for the lack of posts over the last couple of days. We have been busy with our new site.
We bought it for the great selection of outbuildings
Zoomies indoor play - again private hire and potentially dogs birthday š parties I have lots of ideas how to use this space
We spend a lot of money on plants - with this polytunnel we can start to grow our own
Our water loving labs where delighted this morning
Following the rain š§ļø the swim pond is a little deeper so they had a great time
The stream through the woodland is flowing quickly so the water level is being controlled.
Small dogs enjoy exercise too!
We are delighted to announce the opening of Zoomies Activity Zone to compliment our existing fields
The Activity Zone is for small dogs only (up to 15kg) so would include Jack Russellās, French Bulldog, Cavalier King Charles, Boston terrier, chihuahua, border terrier, Lhasa apso, miniature poodle, Shih tzu, whippet, Yorkshire terrier, and westie
Also a great place to let your pups off lead to practice recall.
The path of self binding gravel should make this area suitable for wheelchairs/ prams
Ā£12.50 for an hour; Ā£7 for 30 mins. This fixed price is for up to 5 dogs and up to 2 cars, so you can visit with a friend. HALF THE COST DOUBLE THE FUN!

Work on the dogs swim pond
The first plants are in the dogs swim pond
The tyres will hopefully protect the plants from dogs until they are established PLEASE DO NOT MOVE THE TYRES
I have an idea of what this pond will look like in 3 months - Clear water, lush grass and stunning native plants, all attracting wildlife
We have some availability today - head over to our website and treat you and your dogs to a walk in our stunning fields
Making the most of the weather I am adding more plants to the duck pond - the water is beautiful and clear now
Later today we will start planting the dogs swim pond so it is equally stunning

The Activity Zone for Smaller dogs
The rainwater pond
This weather is perfect for the grass
Itās great to see the grass starting to grow around the rainwater pond
Our next jobs are to lay mud mats at the other entrance and also to plant the perimeter of the pond with marginal pond plants which I have ordered today
We need to ensure that when the rain starts to fall heavily this doesnāt become a muddy mess !
It may be that we close off the pond in the autumn to Grass seed
The new Activity Zone will be ready soon !
The new Activity Zone will hopefully be open soon !
For small dogs š¶ and pram / wheelchair friendly
Fun in the Action Zone
Bonnieās first attempt at the agility /hoopers circuit this morning
Our Happy water loving labs !
It was an early inspection of the Adventure Zone this morning.
My labs love water it was difficult to get them out. The water level is fairly high now so the stream through the woodland has started to flow slowly
Hopefully we can add the pond plants and grass seed the perimeter very soon.
This week we will be laying mud mats at both entrances to the pond
The rainwater pond is deep in places for your dogs to swim. Please only use this if your dogs are confident in water. If you do not intend to use the pond, you should check the two gates are closed before letting your dogs off lead. You are responsible for your dogs safety. There is now a fence around the pond, so this feature of the Adventure Zone is optional, but we cannot guarantee that your dogs will not find a way into the pond. There are two gates which should only be opened if you would like your dogs to use the pond and MUST BE CLOSED AFTER USE for the safety of the next customer and their dogs.
Adventure Zone update
The section of the rear of the Adventure Zone now has winding pathways strimmed through it so you and your dogs can wander and appreciate the planting
So here is the shape of the pond. If you look closely you can see an overflow pipe at the back which will control the height of the pond and feed the stream through the woodland. Fresh water is coming through the ground we think from a stream so the pond will fill up. When the ground is firmer we will be planting the perimeter with pond plants.
Swim pond for dogs
Today has finally arrived. It may look like a muddy mess but this guy and his machine know what they are doing !
As work within the new areas is complete we are focusing on our car park and entrance
First impressions count, so we are landscaping the area.
Just a few tasks for the new Zones - we need to finish the path in the Activity (yellow) Zone and deliver a round picnic style bench to the Action (Red) Zone
Itās then back into the Adventure (purple) Zone to finally dig out the swimming pond for dogs. This will necessitate closing for a full day, Our contractors have promised to confirm a date soon.
We are waiting for United Utilities to connect us to mains water. I suspect we are at least a few weeks away from having a tap and shower in each Zone.
In the meantime we need to keep busy, so you will see the huge mound of top soil start to disappear.
We are grass seeding the area with the fence and have already planted new trees - cherry, apple and pear and added flower baskets for a splash of colour.
Since taking this photo we have added four solar lights on sensors to the fence for when hours of daylight reduces again.
We need a lot of rockery stones for the edges so itās back on Facebook marketplace!
At some point the stables will be replaced with a modern agricultural building but we need planning permission for this.
On the subject of planning, within 28 days our second planning application for the site , for the new Zones needs to be submitted to Knowsley Council. Once again your support will be needed.
