Term Time Activities

Park palace Ponies is able to offer the following activities during term time:

Tuesday 11-12pm SEN group

This would suit individual participants who would like to make friends with other like minded individuals and spend time interacting and grooming our lovely ponies £25 per person.

Wednesdays and Thursday Daytimes
🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
we have availability to welcome in groups. We can accommodate school groups for horse care or riding (age dependent) or SEN groups (adult or children) for horse care sessions. We can offer 1 or 2hr sessions. We can also tailor make packages to accommodate your needs.

Fridays 10-1pm Home Education Pony Club Group
🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
Suitable for home schooled children- horse care only. These sessions will include learning to care for our ponies including mucking out, grooming, handling and feeding. The children will also work through the Pony Club syllabus to achieve nationally recognised achievement badges and tests.

Volunteer Training

Thank you to all who came to our volunteer open day on Sunday. We have identified we have potential volunteers who are experienced with horses as well as those with no experience who are keen to learn.

We will now be offering free training for those who would like to start with us offering the following:

Experienced volunteers induction/ training day
🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴

This day will help you to familiarise yourself with the yard, staff and ponies. You will learn the yard rules and the way we like to do things here at Park Palace Ponies. Topics covered:

✅ Mucking Out
✅ Grooming and tacking up
✅ Safely turning out and catching ponies
✅ Feeding
✅ Rugs
✅ Leading on lessons and adjusting stirrups
✅ Extra jobs- poo picking, litter picking and cleaning tack.

Sunday 14th of September 2.00-5.00pm

🎓You will receive a certificate of attendance on completion of your course.

Volunteers without experience
🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴
We would like to help train inexperienced volunteers to feel confident with all of the topics covered on our experienced volunteers course. We will be offering 3 training sessions where you will receive a one hour lecture followed by an hour on the yard to put your skills in to practise. You will also receive a certificate of attendance 🎓

✅ Saturday 6th September 2-4pm, Saturday 20th September 2-4pm and Saturday 27th 2-4pm.

✅No need to confirm your attendance for either training just turn up on the day!

Pony Club

We are excited to announce that Park Palace Ponies is now a Pony Club Approved Centre! We will be launching our Pony Club on Saturday 6th September.

Pony Club Centre membership offers structured equestrian education, including a progressive pathway to riding and horsemanship tests and achievement badges, along with access to competitions, activities, and lifelong friendships with like-minded individuals, all within a safe environment with certified coaches. This option is ideal for those who don't own a horse but want to participate in all The Pony Club has to offer.

Our Pony Club will be run in the following format:

Saturdays- weekly

⏰10-1pm
Suitable for children 5-10 years old
Includes badge work, getting involved with caring for the ponies and a 30min riding lesson.
💷 £30

⏰1-2pm
Badge work session for participants 11 years plus/teenagers group

1hr session with a mixture of theory and practical working towards Pony Club horse care badges.

💷£15

📚Each badge will take 4-8 weeks to complete depending on the complexity of it 📚

Please note you are required to purchase an annual Pony Club Membership costing £42. You can purchase this on our launch day. We will be looking for local companies to sponsor our low income families for this fee. DM if you would like to support this

We are proud to welcome Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) at Park Palace Ponies. EAL involves interacting with horses in various activities on the ground, to help participants build life skills, improve self-awareness, and enhance their well-being.

EAL can be beneficial in:
✅Supporting individuals with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
✅Helping people with behavioral challenges or emotional difficulties.
✅Assisting with mental health issues or managing anxiety.
✅Providing team-building opportunities.

We are now inviting small groups to come for a 2hr session for £35.00 per person, per week for a 6 week period. We can also offer individual or tailor made packages to suit.

🚨Notice to anyone coming to Park Palace Ponies 🚨

If you come into contact with ANY other horses on any other yard please DO NOT come directly to Park Palace Ponies ‼️

Please wash and change your clothes and fully disinfect any footwear before coming to us.

This is to keep our ponies as safe as possible and to prevent the spread of infection.

There is a confirmed Strangles case in another yard in our local area.

We are sending love and hope that the horse affected recovers quickly and well.

Our friends at Team Oasis are involved in a scheme called The HAF (Holiday Activities and Food) programme which is
is a UK government funded initiative providing free holiday clubs with healthy meals and activities for eligible children and young people during school holidays. It's designed to support families on lower incomes, particularly those who receive benefits-related free school meals. The program aims to ensure children have access to enriching activities, nutritious food, and opportunities to stay active and engaged during school breaks. This is something we’ll likely become involved in next year! Please sign the petition the ensure this very much needed scheme continues.

We are featured on the project page of the Angus Irvine Playing Fields Fund https://aipff.co.uk/project/park-palace-ponies/

The funds from this successful bid enabled us to engage with a business equine development manager to help us increase income. Since she’s started Faye has worked with our amazing staff team here at PPP and together they have pulled off a successful summer club (a first for PPP) and set up, prepared for and passed a Pony Club inspection (more on that next week) and with more inspections and checks coming up we continue to achieve and grow!
