Beginnings

Hi I’m Georgina, I started Her of the Dog mobile grooming in 2006, after deciding to have a complete career change. Whilst I have always had a passion for animals, growing up with a menagerie of pets, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, birds and terrapins. It was always in dogs in particular that was my biggest passion, and always Westies 5 in total over the years.

But it was owning and training my Westies Hamish & Heidi (above), and being part of a dog display team, that made me realise that being around dogs all day was what I wanted to do in life. So I trained as a groomer and set up my grooming business. Visiting customers in their own home. I have been lucky and have or have had some wonderful customers over the years, many becoming friends, both furry and human.

Now the business is expanding into other areas to include dog walking, cat/puppy/elderly pet care, pop in’s for home alone pets. It is also expanding to incorporate a pet bakery and gifts or owners and their fur babies. Which just gives me and excuse to get messy and indulge in my other passion crafting.

Sadly my inspirations Hamish and Heidi are no longer with me. Instead I have my two cats Charlie and Alice to keep me on my toes.
