And the winner of the Worlds Strongest Dog competition goes to Big Diesal 💪 💪 💪
Amazing how the most simple things provide the dogs with endless pleasure and great mental stimulation 😀
Chancey
Our second session with Chancey we let him explore the environment and done some occasional recalls on his long line.
We also had a game of catch and fetch using play to get his attention on us in a distracting environment.
We then had a relaxed walk with him.
Great work today Chancey and his owners have been working hard 😀
Molly and her owner showing me their lead walk practice, good job 👍
A wee video of my Niece in her element walking around Dobbies with Diesal.
I did offer her to walk the 3 of them but for some reason she wasn’t very keen on doing that lol 😂
This is a wee video of one of my group walks today featuring my Radar and Bleu, Frodo, Quincy, Blu poo and Fran and Harry.
All dogs know each other and no issues, although Radar likes to wind Harry up at times to get him to play so you can see Harry telling Radar off a couple of times which is absolutely ok, there is no malice in it just a warning and Radar does listen but pushes the boundaries sometimes and tries a few times.
I love this group really neutral dogs who just happy walking along together doing their own thing and as you can see they like to stick together too 😀

GSD Lifeskills Class
A small video of our class this week.
We took it easy as it was a little warm for the dogs so done some lead walking work both loose lead walking and some relaxed walking.
We worked on our emergency stops and also some settle work before heading to the cafe for a coffee.
All the dogs done well 😀
Group Walk Fun
A wee video I took on our walk this morning with Fran, Harry, Quincy, Frodo, Radar and Bleu.
It was a lovely walk despite Quincy peeing on me lol 😂
They were all so good however as you can see Radar decided he wasn’t listening to me and wanted to annoy Harry so he got a telling off from Harry which is quite acceptable 🤣
Missy GSD
Missy GSD
Today at our walk and training session o wanted to give Missy some extra freedom and have a relaxed walk.
I added in some occasional recalls and stays and majority of the time she was really good and listened to me.
We past some dogs and Missy didnt even look at them she’s quite happy if they just walk by her.
Whilst we were doing her down stay wee Toby the poodle smelt me out on his walk with his owners and came running to me.
Missy was actually fine with him and only gave him one wee bark as I was giving him a treat. She done so well but again Toby is a nice dog who always give space to other dogs so he wasn’t a threat to her.
I was really pleased with her today and definitely seeing progress with her.
Well done Missy 😀
Missy GSD
A visit to Dobbies to get some more environmental exposure with Missy.
We worked on some free walking so she could do some exploring and then done little bits of loose lead walking and what a difference to when we first started a few months ago.
As it’s been warm we decided to do lots of settle work in this environment and Missy was so good she would barely go into a down before let alone settle.
Well done Missy 😀
Ghillie Lab
This is a clip of Ghillie settled at Starbucks with little Ferris and our 3 Diesal, Radar and Bleu.
Ghillie couldn’t have done this a few months ago he would never have been comfortable being close to other dogs but with hard work , patience and lots of training from the owner he is finally getting there.
Also Ghillie attended the German Shepherd Rescue show at the weekend and he wandered around ignoring other dogs and he settled amongst the German shepherds who attend our training classes in close proximity.
He had 2 grumbles when dogs got too close but this is understandable.
I just wanted to say well done Team Ghillie what a massive achievement 🤩
Molly Moo
Molly
We took Molly a visit to Dobbies to get some environmental exposure in as she has never been to a shop before.
We let her explore and have a good sniff around and she done really well.
Even when people came up to her she was nice and calm and previously she would try and jump on people if she was excited.
We took her into the cafe where there was a couple of dogs and Molly just settled whilst we chatted.
Mollys owner was delighted as she done so well for her first time in a shop and she was so calm and relaxed in the cafe.
Well done guys super proud of you both 🤩
Missy GSD
It’s been a few months since I last saw Missy for training.
When I first started working with Missy she pulled like a train and would react to other dogs when she was out with her owners.
We done a few sessions working on lead walking and reactivity
The owner has spent the last few months working hard with Missy and has been taking her to lots of different environments, shops , busy parks etc.
She is doing really well although can still react to some dogs.
I took her out a relaxed walk to see how she was progressing, although she was slightly pully when I first took her out she soon relaxed and was walking on a nice loose lead.
When I first when into the park I was rushed by 2 off lead bull dogs who came running up to her I didn’t get stressed as this would just make situation worse but just ignored the dogs and continued to walk and they kept following us. I had to stop and let the owners get the dog. Missy handled it like a pro and completely ignored them I was so proud of her.
We passed by a few dogs on our walk and again Missy didn’t bother a jot.
She done so well and I’m looking forward to pushing her further in our future sessions.
Wel done Missy and Owners 😀
Here is a video of the guys just being dogs.
You can see Diesal catches Radar and nips him in on the bum and looses his balance and falls over.
I stopped videoing at this point to check he was ok and he was absolutely fine and just got up again.
Bunch of idiots at times but I love that lol 😂
My Gang
Here is a short video of just me and my dogs at a country show last week.
Our dogs come absolutely everywhere with us so they are very well socialised and used to lots of different environments, different sounds, smells, surfaces, etc
They are still always learning though and at this show I stood and watched a demonstration from the fire brigade how they cut someone out of a car, it was very interesting but very noisy with different burning smells and lots of people.
My guys weren’t phased by it but again it’s great socialisation for them and part of how we can build on a dog’s confidence.
I did get asked lots how I can walk 3 big dogs and I’m not going to lie it’s not always easy as they are so strong but it all comes down to training. We spend time training them so we can enjoy spending time with them and taking them different places.
They are not perfect all the time they are still dogs at the end of the day, Radar occasionally barks at the odd dog mainly when he’s out with Diesal and Bleu, Bleu doesn’t always listen and Diesal gets bored sometimes and likes to roll around on his back being a dafty lol
And remember train the dog in front of you, my dogs don’t do
Competition heel work, protection work or big fancy trick , none of them have the drive for it and it’s not in their genetics.
They are our go anywhere dogs 🐕
Molly
Well done Marylin and Molly some great lead walking today 😀
Me and my guys ❤️
As my other half is away to watch the stock car racing I decided to take my gang to the beach. Unfortunately in Skegness they not aloud on the beach at this time so I just sat and watched everyone having fun.
We then went a walk along the promenade and had a wee wander and just done some people watching.
We had lots of fun before coming back to the camp site to have their dinner 🥘
.
We had a visit to The Museum of Flight yesterday to see the Lancaster Taxi.
The dogs were as good as gold and weren’t bothered about the noise as they are very well socialised in lots of different noisy environments.
Radar and Bleu did get a fright initially when it started up but then weren’t bothered and they were all happy just chilling.
They got lots of attention from the staff and took it all in their stride.
They got to have some off lead fun at the end and as you can see they are just normal dogs at times and run around daft and have a play. Diesal might be an old lad but he is still the Boss and puts wee Radar in his place at times 😂
The gang
The Gang
A busy weekend for my guys.
They have been at a big world championship stock car racing weekend down south.
First off they were sharing a tent with 2 other German Shepherds whom they only met a couple of weeks ago, the other 2 were a bit scared of my guys so my guys just totally ignored them and let them both see that they weren’t a threat to them.
Soon enough the wee lad Hudson was ok with them and even got to steal their chews.
We done a walk round the race track before the racing started and none of them were phased.
They watched the racing, slept through loud noises and weren’t phased my the loud fireworks.
Poor Sapphire one of the other dogs was not amused with the fireworks poor girl.
Diesal and Radar used to the racing so really not bothered by loud noises. Although Bleu has been coming to the racing with us this is the first time she has came along to a big weekend event and she was as good as gold. I am really proud of her.
We came back to the camp site and they had a sleep after their tea.
We then watched the calm before the storm ☔️ and had some bits of thunder and lightning. We went inside as it started raining and just as well we did as it was torrential last night, and loud rumbles of thunder.
Radar was a little scared by the thunder especially being in the motorhome it felt much louder than it usually would.
I’m so pleased we have dogs we can take everywhere and they are so relaxed.
It hasn’t come easy we have done lots of training with each of them.
Like anything you get what you put in 😀
