Trevor WL GSD

I met up with Trevor and his owner today for a 1-2-1 training session.

At 2.5 Years old Trevor already has some good solid foundations.

He gets excited and very over threshold at times especially when he goes to new environments.

His loose lead walking has taken a step backwards and although he is mainly good with other dogs there can be some reactions to the odd few.

We spoke about all of the basic foundations and went over Luring the dog and having fun engagement sessions with him.

Trevor loves to play but gets so excited and sometimes won’t out the toy.

We worked on impulse control around the toy and the mechanics of play teaching him that outing the toy will result in more play at times.

I can’t wait to see Trevor again next week to see how he progresses as he is a fast learner and loves to work 😀

About Me

I hold a qualification in Canine First Aid. I am insured with Pet Business Insurance and have a basic police disclosure.

I have a German Shepherd called Diesal who was a Therapy dog with Canine Concern Scotland until recently. We regularly visited hospitals and universities to reduce stress levels.

From the minute we got Diesal I fell in love with him and he became my best friend. If you own a Shepherd you will know they are a one man dog and Diesal is definitely my husband Wullie’s dog as he goes to work with him everyday so they have a special bond. I wanted to learn as much as I could so all my time and effort went into training him and learning as much as I could about the breed so I could help others who own German Shepherds.

I run a German Shepherd community page and regularly arrange group walks and various workshops. I set up German Shepherd only training classes at my local training club and assist the trainer at the classes every week. I am a volunteer for German Shepherd Rescue Scotland and regularly hold events to raise money for the rescue.
