Poor Winnie was brought in to see Paul as he had an abscess on his foot.
Paul managed to treat this using local anaesthetic to lance and drain the abscess, antibiotics and some pain relief.
Most of you will know, Paul has a soft spot for all our exotic patients.

๐ฐLeo the Lionhead ๐ฐ
Leo came in today to have his teeth burred as they had become overgrown and were affecting his appetite.
Dental disease in rabbits is sometimes present from birth, but can actually develop because the teeth arenโt being worn down properly. This can be helped by ensuring they are having the correct foods to eat.
๐ฐWhat is the best diet for dental health in our rabbits?
- Herbivore teeth are meant to continually chew on high-fibre food such as grass or hay.
- Most of the diet should consist of this and around 80% of the diet should be hay or grass. This is easy to measure out as it works out as a body-sized portion of hay per day. They should also have leafy greens and a small amount of rabbit nuggets everyday. Access to fresh water is also very important to support digestion.
Signs of dental disease in your rabbit may include:
- Drooling
- Weight loss
- Reduced appetite
- Change in appetite
If you have any concerns or questions about rabbit nutrition, please ask us and we will be able to help.
Only 4 weeks to go! Our incredible HR manager Kelly, is walking Snowdon for Charity, only a few months after having surgery to remove a brain tumour.
We are so proud of how she has taken on such a huge challenge but we know she will achieve it as her strength and determination is second to none.
This weekend, she conquered Pen-y-fan with her husband, Mike (we thought we'd better mention him so he didn't feel left out). This is in preparation for her hike up Snowdon on the 11th of May.
Kelly is fundraising for the brain tumour charity and she is very thankful for all donations so far and to everyone supporting her on this adventure and during her recovery.
The Brain Tumour Charity is the world's leading brain tumour charity and the largest dedicated funder of research into brain tumours globally. Committed to saving and improving lives, we're moving further, faster to help every single person affected by a brain tumour.

Elf loves working with the team but also independently, after all he is Elf-taught !!!
