Powys Small Pet Boarding Welcome to my small pet boarding page, this runs alongside Powys Small Pet Pampering set up in 2020.

I offer boarding for small pets, mostly guinea pigs, but also hamsters, fancy rats, mice, etc. They are housed in a secure and weatherproof wooden summerhouse in my garden and treated as if they were one of my own animals, with a minimum of twice daily checks, feeding and watering as well as regular cleaning out. Rabbits will be considered if they are fully vaccinated against myxomatosis, RHD1 and

RHD2, please contact me to discuss. I am experienced in all aspects of small animal ownership, care and handling, having owned rabbits for over 30 years, guinea pigs for 20 years, as well as hamsters and fancy rats in the past. I am fully insured, have an enhanced DBS check and offer a friendly and professional service, giving you peace of mind that your small pets are properly cared for while you relax on holiday. For guinea pigs and rabbits I provide cages, unlimited hay, food and water bowls/bottles and fresh green food twice daily. You can either provide your own bedding and dry food or use mine (dust-extracted wood shavings and Twitch guinea pig nuggets/Fancy Feed Bunny Nuggets or Burgess Excel rabbit pellets). For hamsters and other small rodents please provide your own cage, food and bedding. All guinea pigs and rabbits staying for two nights or more will have a free claw cut if required, and I also offer a 10% discount off my usual prices if you want your guinea pig to be bathed or groomed while they are a resident here. Just a reminder that as my summerhouse has no electricity supply (and therefore no heating) I am only able to board rabbits and guinea pigs who live outdoors or in unheated environments such as sheds, garages and utility rooms until around March time.

Smaller pets such as hamsters, mice, fancy rats and gerbils will be kept in a spare room in our home between now and next spring. In certain circumstances I may have space in our spare room for guinea pigs who usually live indoors as well.

If you're using this holiday period to start planning your Easter or summer holiday, or are expecting to have noisy or dusty home renovations done then don't forget about your small pets!

I'd recommend booking in as soon as possible, even if your dates are only provisional at this stage, I am the only boarder of small pets in the whole of Powys as far as I'm aware and I am getting busier each year...so don't leave it too late!

If so then do get in touch, as I'm now more established with my small business I am getting many repeat bookings as well as new pets looking to stay with me, so please book early to avoid disappointment! I have just taken a new booking for Christmas and New Year!! 🎄🎁🎀✨️

I do not charge any extra for stays over Bank Holidays (although drop off and collection may not be possible on the actual Bank Holidays) and apart from a couple of weeks each year we are always available to look after your small pets!

Please note that from now until around March time I can only board rabbits and guinea pigs who live outside or in unheated sheds/outbuildings/wendy houses (as my own summerhouse is unheated)

Small rodents such as hamsters, fancy rats, gerbils and mice can stay with me all year round however as they are boarded in our home over the winter months.

My diary is now open for the whole of 2025 with bookings already in for most months so don't delay if you want to secure your dates! 🐹✈️🐰🏖🐭

A little tour as I start to get set up for the first of this season's guests! My summerhouse is a perfect space for your small pets to stay in while you are away on holiday or needing them to be somewhere quiet and dust free while you're having home renovations done. I need to bring up hay, dried forage, fresh greens and water on the morning of the first guest's arrival and then we are all ready to go!

Bertie loves his romaine lettuce!! 🐹🥬🐹

🐹🌿🐰🌻🐹🥀🐰🍁🐹🍂🐰 We feed a range of fresh food here, including spring greens, kale, spinach, romaine lettuce, apple, carrot and fresh grass and dandelions in the summer months. Here is Bertie, one of our current boarders enjoying his selection! Unlimited hay is also provided, alongside readigrass (dried grass) and dried forage which we buy from Bunny Bistro UK. We have a few options available for dry feed, including Twitch guinea pig or rabbit nuggets, Burgess Excel rabbit pellets, Fancy Feed Bunny Nuggets and Gerty Guinea Pig mix. If your pet is fussy you are of course welcome to bring your own food along! 🐹🌿🐰🌻🐹🥀🐰🍁🐹🍂🐰

Midnight also went home yesterday, she's a pretty girl isn't she?!

Dave filling his pouches before returning to his nest yesterday! I'm taking bookings for September onwards now, as my boarders I have at the moment will all be going back to their own homes over the next week or so...we will miss them! 🐹🐰🐭

Cookie the guinea pig arrived this week as well, here he is enjoying some romaine lettuce!
