It's been a busy summer for underhill, I will do a big round up in a few days but I wanted to post now to say how proud we are of our members who have been representing us this week at The Pony Club national championships.

We have members in the showjumping and 4 teams in the horse and pony care. They have done a Sterling job so far, with junior senior teams still to compete, well done girls we so so proud of you. Thank you for representing our club so well.

Wow what a weekend, on Sunday we held the area 10 showjumping competition In New Radnor. The Pony Club What a great day we had. It was a huge undertaking, with changes being made to make the day a success right up to a couple of days before the show.

There are so many thank yous to be said, we are so lucky to have such a fantastic team behind us, staff, friends,parents and brilliant members all of which helped us organise, set up and clear away, we are so so grateful to you all and honestly couldn't do it without you so here's a huge THANKYOU TO YOU ALL. ❤️

We then had the most amazing field to compete on, beautifully flat, perfect going and what a view. Richard the landowner was so helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble, THANK YOU SO MUCH to the Harris family.

We had 4 judges and a course builder who were brilliant, the course was built with the members in mind to give them as good a round as possible, and with only one set of jumps there were many course changes throughout the day but that was never a problem, so thank you all.

We had wonderful food there from pen min cae, and kelsmor dairy. A tuck shop from gladestry and new radnor school, a tack shop from ourselves and nicky. And the paramedic and vet Builth Vets on site all day, all of you had a very long day but did it with a smile so thank you so so much.

Teme Valley Pony Club ran the unaffiliated showjunping along side some of our helpers and what a great job they did, lots of happy members and great jumping rounds. They were there the day before setting up and had a very long day on the field so, thank you, again we couldn't have done it without you

We had a few sponsors who supported our event, so a HUGE THANKYOU to them for helping us run an expensive event. R and R media, Weales Wheels , Builth Vets, Llandrindod Tyres & Service Centre , Hay And Brecon Farmers Ltd , it's dun IT for providing starling WiFi, super reliable and quick, it made our scoring system much easier.

Lastly I want to say a HUGE thank you to Isobel Mills our pony club area rep, Isobel has been amazing from the moment we said we would run this comp, we have run the horse and pony care before but this was a Whole different ball game, Isobel had many stressed calls from me and always calmly had a solution, you are such a brilliant area rep and so supportive to your clubs. Thank you.
Also to Hayley at pony club results who gave me a crash course in the system and was on the end of the phone multiple times to help me out. Thank you.

Finally, MASSIVE THANK YOU ALL THE PUBLIC THAT CAME TO THE UNAFFILIATED SHOWJUMPING AND ALL THE MEMBERS AND WILLING ADULTS WHO BROUGHT THEM TO THE COMPETITION AND SUPPORTED US, THANK YOU SO MUCH.

We have 2 rings for the unaffiliated show jumping on Sunday kindly run by Teme Valley and Underhill centre pony club
90 cm will START at 10am with 80cm and 70cm Following

The smaller classes 40cm 50cm and 60cm will START at 12pm in the adjoining ring.

This to run along side the area qualifier and offer a chance for a round to warm up if wanted.

📣📣Attention PC members wanting to compete In area competitions. Note from area 10

With the abolition of what was known as the 'three rally rule' eligibility to compete at Area Competitions, each Area created it's own Eligibility to Compete Rule. Here is the Area 10 Rule, as a Featured Post for all to see:-
Area 10 Rule re Eligibility to Represent the Branch at Area Competitions
In order to be eligible to compete at Area Competitions, members from all Branches and Centres in Area 10 must have actively taken part in at least 3 Pony Club ‘activities’ during the previous 12 months. At least one of these ‘activities’ must be on the horse/pony which they wish to compete on at Area competitions. These ‘activities’ must be undertaken between 1st July of the previous year, and 30th June of the current year in which the Area competition is taking place and at least one of them should take place in the current year.
An ‘activity’ can be a rally, qualifying coaching, or training sessions or Camp and is one which is organised by a Branch committee, a Centre or the Area Rep and must be a minimum of an hour in length. Camp is counted as one ‘activity’.
In the event that a member is prevented from attending the requisite three events by illness, absence from home or any other reason which in the opinion of the DC or Centre proprietor or Centre manager responsible for Pony Club, justifies absence, a dispensation may be given by the DC, the Centre proprietor or Centre manager responsible for Pony Club. In the event of a dispute, the facts shall be reported to the Area Rep whose decision will be final.
Importantly and in addition to demonstrating loyalty to the Branch or Centre, the combination of horse and rider may also be required to prove their competence, safety, plus fitness of horse or pony, in the specific sport and level that the member wishes to participate at. Recent results on recognised Online Scoring sites at the level being competed at, or above, are acceptable.

Yesterday we trekked off to South Wales with 7 teams (21 members) for the Area 10 horse and pony care competition.
What a fantastic day we had, with a few of us finding some interesting roads to get there 🤦🏻‍♀️ and being very glad we only had cars not horse lorries. When we arrived the members were fantastic. All turned out beautifully and as always so polite, you did us proud.

We came away with all teams being placed which is just fantastic.

Minis :
Underhill Black 7th place
Underhill Purple 5th place
Underhill Gold 2nd place.

There was some stiff competition and 17 teams were in the mini section, well done girls 🥳🥳

Juniors :

Underhill Black 8th place
Underhill Gold 5th place
Underhill Purple 1st place

Seniors:

Underhill 2nd place

We are so so proud of all our members, and are so pleased you were keen to come and represent your club yesterday, it's so great to see you enjoying yourselves. As always a huge thank you to the parents who never grumble about trekked your children miles for these competitions.

A HUGE thank you to those who trained the members, what a fab job you did.
2 of our senior team actually trained the mini teams, so lovely to see older members involved in training the youngsters. Thank you girls.
