Can you help us…

We’re looking for volunteer driver on a Tuesday.

Come and join our Mobile Clinic team, driving our van to its various venues throughout North Wales.

Our Tuesday route is currently Llandudno - Blaenau Ffestiniog - Caernarfon - Llandudno (subject to change)

If you like driving, being part of a great team helping animals on a busy mobile veterinary clinic, and have a day a week free, we would love to hear from you.

Full clean driving licence essential and some experience driving a larger vehicle or van preferred (the mobile clinic is the size of an ambulance)

Full training and a uniform is provided.

We are very excited to welcome you aboard.

LOCUM VETS NEEDED - Various Dates
RSPCA MOBILE CLINIC - NORTH WALES

We are the only RSPCA mobile veterinary clinic in the UK, based in beautiful North Wales. Funded exclusively by 4 local RSPCA branches, we offer subsidised non-surgical medicine to clients on low income or means tested benefits who may not have the resources to seek veterinary help from a private vet. We visit 8 venues across North Wales every week, making a difference to the animals in the heart of the communities who need us the most.

We are looking for a Locum Vet, initially for various dates across the Summer, with the possibility of more regular hours from the end of the year. A typical day would be a 2 hour clinic in the morning, followed by a 2 hour clinic in the afternoon. Rates to be discussed.

You will have the full support of a great administrative team, a driver, a vet assistant and reception staff at each venue.

If you are passionate about providing affordable veterinary care, helping animals who need us the most and fancy something just a little bit different, we really want to hear from you.

Please send expressions of interest to [email protected]

Another beautiful girl is looking for a home. She is being fostered in the Deeside area by one of our volunteers on behalf of the RSPCA Wrexham branch.

“My name is Cali and I am about 18 months old. I was found wandering in the woods with my 5 kittens.
I am a friendly girl and like a fuss but I am also a bit independent so probably not a lap cat. I have had a little operation to ensure that I do not have to endure the sound of pattering paws again! I was exhausted after the last lot but now I am having some “me time” and becoming more playful and chilled.

If you could offer me a home, please ring 01244 533257 or 07962672868”

This beautiful girl is looking for a home. She is being fostered in the Deeside area by one of our volunteers on behalf of the RSPCA Wrexham branch.

A little bit about her sent by her foster Mum -
“Hello! My name is Sabrina and I am a shy but very affectionate little cat. I have spent a lot of time stuck in a cattery and had 6 kittens while I was there! I have now had my fill of other cats and would like to be in a home of my own getting all the attention. Due to all the disruption in my life, I am wary of strangers when they first approach me but when I get to know you, I love a fuss and will purr and roll over. I would like to have a lap to sit on sometimes and I am happy to play.

If you are looking for a companion, please consider making it me!”

If you have a Sabrina shaped hole in your life and would like more info please ring 07962672868 or 01244 533257.

🐇RABBIT AWARENESS WEEK 2024🐇

feeding rabbits a high-quality, dust-free feeding hay or fresh grass should make up about 85% of their daily diet. Their hay pile should be same size as them each day. And of course fresh is best 😁

It's all about fibre! This nutrient is essential for rabbits' health:

🐰 Dental health – Bunnies teeth are always growing. Gnawing on good quality feeding hay or fresh grass helps keep them in check and prevent dental problems.

🥦 Digestive health – Fibre is essential to keep a rabbit's digestive system running reducing the risk of gut stasis and bloat.

Did you know rabbits should spend up to 70% of their time foraging? By providing plenty of hay and grass, you're helping your rabbits fulfil their natural behaviour! 😁

Here at BYM we have lots of rabbits big & small looking for their furever homes where they can be given love ❤️, companionship 🐰🐰 & a healthy diet 🥬🥦🍎.

As we all commemorate the 80th anniversary of the D Day landings, we should also take time to remember the animals that were involved in the events that unfolded.

Paradogs were taught to get used to wartime conditions, like aircraft propellers and loud noises. They were also trained to identify the smell of explosives. The dogs wore their own parachutes and were trained to jump after bones/treats.

One of these dogs, Bing, a German Shepherd, survived the war and went on to be awarded the Dicken Medal, the Animals Victoria Cross.

We will remember them
Lest we forget 💙

As it’s National Volunteers week, we’d like to put the spotlight on some of our amazing volunteers…

First up, it’s one of our very own (and famous to our clients) double acts Jan and Nan.

Both have spent many years volunteering on the mobile clinic and at the RSPCA Aberconwy Animal Welfare Clinic & Branch in Llandudno Junction.

They bring smiles, love, laughs and kindness with everything they do and we would be lost without them for sure.

Huge thanks to you both Jan and Nan 💙
