Rosie aka "Captain Trouble" shows the reason she has this much loved nickname.
Turns out buckets πͺ£ πͺ£ don't make very good boots π’π’
After watching the Trooping the Colour today and seeing the drum horses on parade it reminded me of our own parade with Osian earlier this year
Here he is at Barley Saturday learning how to be a very good boy while lots of people cheer him on
Perhaps we have another drum horse to join the ranks? π₯
Today is payday, I've been lucky enough to receive a small bonus this month.
So of course, Rosie hurts herself and I've now got a huge vets bill. That's the way of the world of keeping horses
To make me feel better heres a cute video of the little monster helping me spread new bedding out ready for her 2 weeks bed rest π
Had to also share the full video as he goes on for ages π
Today I put on my big brave girl pants and entered Sioe Aberystwyth a Sir Ceredigion / Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County Show
Bella and Rosie will be there along with Osian if all goes to plan π€
First, I've got to tame this little terror ππ
Life is so fun at a week old π
Bella is 355 days into pregnancy, she's starting to "wax" which is a good sign we are getting very close to foaling.
She's gone out in the sunshine for a few hours under the very watchful eyes of Fred and Osian π€©
Osian is washed, fed and tucked into bed ready for his big show tomorrow!
*
Hopefully he can strut his stuff like he does at home π
Look at that shiny coat π
Beautiful Bella is creeping closer to her due date and is starting to look very round in the middle! She's gone out today for a few hours on the grass and to soak up some sun π
Osian had a very busy day
*
We have been practicing for the show season, learning how to trot nicely π how to stand square, and most importantly; how to load into the lorry π
*
Thankfully he used his sensible brain today and learned to load up the very steep ramp quite quickly! Followed by a yummy apple for a treat ππ
Osian has been nominated for the "Most annoying little brother" award. π
It's a good thing he bites Fred, cos Bella would knock his block off
I love to see a young horse's personality start to shine through
*
Osian was quite the shy boy when he arrived and now he is definitely showing his cheeky, fun and playful side!
*
He obviously thinks I'm taking too long to put a fresh, clean bed down for him! π
What a boy π
Osian had a very busy 45 mins training session today. He tried the baby saddle on, and went for a walk with it on. Only spooking once when the stirrup swung against his side.
*
We had a very long discussion about a puddle, which he could have stepped over π we got over it in the end. Although he still thinks there might have been alligators π in it!
*
And to finish making me very proud, he showed off his trailering skills, by loading himself! Even if he did get distracted halfway up π

It's been very hot today π₯΅ So the best time with the horses is just after sunset when it's much cooler
Fred and Bella shared a good scratch while the foals played together β€οΈ
Sprite is almost a year old
She has been entered into her first show at the end of the month and so we are starting to get her ready
Today, for the first time, she had her legs trimmed. You can see in the video how well behaved she is, I did absolutely NO training for this, no prep, nothing.
It's the first time she's ever seen or heard trimmers, let alone having her legs trimmed!
I'm really glad I chose to keep this filly, especially after losing her mum just a few weeks ago β€οΈ
"Making my way downtown...."
Fred struts his stuff at the Barley Saturday Stallion Parade
