Our gorgeous baby Rosie has left for her new home tonight ❤️🌹

Sending best wishes and good luck to her new owners, we know you'll love and enjoy her as much as we have!

Can't wait to see her grow with a new family, here's some photos of her growing up and the last photo my mum took of her at the end 😅

💚💙 A boys day out for Fred and Osian at our local horse and pony fun show

We came away with a huge selection of rosettes (one of every colour!) and Reserve champion overall for Fred including a lovely sash which fits him, if a little tight 👀

Very proud of my boys for being perfectly gentlemanly behaved

To finish the day Fred gave some of the kids a ride before heading home!

A huge thank you to auntie Angharad for teaming up with Oshi for the day you were 💅🫶💯 slay
And also Megan for the super pictures and helping us all out today

I didn't plan on looking through these ears today, but here we are
That's Osians first ride done and dusted!
As expected he was super well behaved and earned his new nickname: "Mr Reliable"

The ride may have only been 2 minutes down the farm track but it's a nice short practice session for him while he's still maturing

Fred takes quite a lot of brushing when he comes in from the field. He's part Bog Monster and likes to really soak up the mud
Lucky for him he's loved and a little bit spoilt so he gets scrubbed while he eats his hay 💙

Auntie Angharad came to visit today, so we had a rest and relaxation day with Osian and Mabel 💚🧡

Baby Rosie is now 5 months old, and the weaning process has begun! 🩷
Just a couple of hours each day in a separate stable to begin with, easy peasy for Bella and Rosie.

However, Mabel and Osian were very upset about being left in the field!

It's been a month since the lovely Mabel joined our little herd 🧡
She's made a firm friendship with 2yr old gelding Osian 💚

Since arriving Mabel has seen the Dentist, farrier, Osteopath and vets. All giving her a clean bill of health 👍
She's feeling so good and is regularly seen running and playing with Osian and foal, Rosie

She is already well loved and fits in so well with all the different personalities here (Bella will take a little while to warm up to her 😅)

What a lovely evening for feeding time!

I try to colour code their buckets, so everyone gets a feed designed for their individual needs. I don't know why I bother, they all share and mix and match anyway 😅

Today I had the amazing opportunity to run Lily in the show ring on behalf of her owners

Lily, now a year old, was born and bred here at Siedi Shires. She was sold at 6 months and travelled all the way to... 30mins away from us 😂

So for the final show of the season we thought Llandyfaelog Show would be a great chance to get her out for the first time.

Lily took everything in her stride, she was calm and enjoyable all day (except when she spotted the donkeys)
She went home with her first 1st prize 🏆 and lots of kind comments from the judge about how lovely her trot was!

Today was so much fun, and an amazing experience to spend the day with a horse I bred myself ❤️ huge thanks to everyone today, you all know who you are. See you next year!!!

Just a girl and her horse 💙

I love all my horses, but Fred holds a special place in my heart. It's a difficult love to describe, but I guess most horsey people will know it as "Heart horse"

It's the one who really gets you, the horse who knows when you need them. The one who you tell everything and they listen.

Fred is that horse, he does however have his own stuff going on, very important horse stuff. It's important that I listen to him too when he's having a bad day.

We have made the decision to not attend Llandysul show next weekend, as there has been an outbreak locally of the deadly neurological disease EHV-1

I feel like I've already taken a huge risk bringing a new mare onto the farm (she is in quarantine)
Taking another big risk of moving the mare and foal to a show seems like one risk too far for me.

So, sadly, that's the end of show season for us! It's been a good one and I feel like this is a good time to finish, even if I have to miss the chance to support our local show. The health of the horses comes first ❤️

🩷 A big welcome to our newest girl 🩷

Walton Princess May •Mabel•

This stunning 6 year old mare has come to join our small herd with the aim of potentially being a Broodmare alongside Bella

For now, she will be given the full Siedi Shires treatment. A good pedicure, vet check, vaccinations, teeth check and a physio/chiro. She will be fully fit and healthy by March when she will meet with Fred 😉😙😘

Today we just concentrated on some good grazing and relaxing in the sun. I can't wait to see what the future holds for this girl 💕

Show #10! Sioe Llangeitho Show was a quiet day for Shires, Bella and Rosie both got 1st in their classes and little Rosie came home with Reserve Champion, that's the 3rd one this year 😍 Here's a short clip of the best girls in the ring 🩷🩷

Rosie aka "Captain Trouble" shows the reason she has this much loved nickname. Turns out buckets 🪣 🪣 don't make very good boots 👢👢

After watching the Trooping the Colour today and seeing the drum horses on parade it reminded me of our own parade with Osian earlier this year Here he is at Barley Saturday learning how to be a very good boy while lots of people cheer him on Perhaps we have another drum horse to join the ranks? 🥁

Today is payday, I've been lucky enough to receive a small bonus this month. So of course, Rosie hurts herself and I've now got a huge vets bill. That's the way of the world of keeping horses To make me feel better heres a cute video of the little monster helping me spread new bedding out ready for her 2 weeks bed rest 🙄

Had to also share the full video as he goes on for ages 😂

Today I put on my big brave girl pants and entered Sioe Aberystwyth a Sir Ceredigion / Aberystwyth and Ceredigion County Show Bella and Rosie will be there along with Osian if all goes to plan 🤞 First, I've got to tame this little terror 😭😅

Life is so fun at a week old 😍

Bella is 355 days into pregnancy, she's starting to "wax" which is a good sign we are getting very close to foaling. She's gone out in the sunshine for a few hours under the very watchful eyes of Fred and Osian 🤩
