Some excellent advice for keeping your feline friends well during the cold snap.
It’s lovely and warm in Sophisticats as well have our fabulous heat pumps chugging away keeping our guests lovely and warm and filtering the air so it’s lovely and fresh too.

There’s a cold snap hitting us here in the UK 🥶 You may need to take some extra steps to help look after your cat during the chilly weather. Check our website for some more tips 👉 https://icatcare.org/advice/hazardous-weather/

🐈 If your cat usually has outdoor access, consider having a litter tray indoors because they may avoid venturing out into the cold.

💧If you usually keep a water bowl outside, check that it hasn’t frozen over. Avoid putting chemicals that are poisonous to cats, like Antifreeze, in ponds and water features as cats will often drink from these too.

🐾 Provide indoor enrichment, like puzzle feeders, and play with your cat for a few minutes each day.

🚗 Before starting your car, tap on the hood and check between the tyres to check that a cat isn’t hiding there for some warmth.

We know some of you will be worrying about your cats, if you’re going to get here to collect your cat or drop them off.
All of the cats here are fine and have had their breakfast, nice and snug listening to the radio.
Don’t worry if you’re going to be late or even delayed until another day, let us know if you can. The most important thing is everyone staying safe.
We hope everyone has weathered the storm, so far, it’s not over yet!!!

It seems like ages, even though it was only days ago that the sun was shining.

We’ve had the heating on 24/7 extra early this year.

Hope you’re all warm and snug this evening, there’s nothing nicer than a warm cat on your lap to warm you up!!

Unfortunately the lady named Jackie who was due to visit the cattery on Saturday and cancelled popped in without an appointment today. Due to appointments already booked for customers with cats in the cattery we did not have time to show her around when she turned up unexpectedly today.
I did say I would call her and arrange another appointment but unfortunately have found we don’t have her number on file as she hasn’t registered with the cattery yet.
Sorry Jackie I hope you or someone you know will see this post, please give us a ring and we will sort a mutually convenient time for you to view the cattery and book your cat in. That’s if you like the cattery of course.

Please always make an appointment, it avoids disruption to the cats and helps us to provide a better service for everyone.

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL CAT DAY

We’ve had the privilege to share our lives with some remarkable cats, some still with us, some sadly greatly missed , but the time with them appreciated.

We were delighted to welcome Puppy Power to Sophisticats yesterday.
As some of our customers know we have a mixture of woodland and rough pasture as well as areas which are dedicated to wildlife within our small holding. We are delighted to have Puppy Power using some of our land which is quite a distance from our cattery buildings.
What a wonderful skill to teach and enjoy with your dog.

We hope you’re all having a relaxing bank holiday.
We care for cats all year round, but aren’t open on bank holidays or Sundays for arrivals or departures. Norman services resume on Tuesday, have a lovely bank holiday everyone.

We would like to wish everyone a lovely Easter. Here’s a picture of our dearly loved Bob helping on a previous year’s egg hunt, we do miss him but are grateful for the many years of his gentle company and the joy he brought us.

Unfortunately one of customers is having to sadly part with her two beloved cats, this is not a decision which has been easily reached. We are hoping that one of our wonderful cat loving customers or Facebook followers may be the right home for these two lovely girls.

A little about the girls.
Kiki ( Tortoiseshell) and Martha ( black with a dash of white on her chest) are young girls, Kiki is 3 and Martha will be 3 in April, they have been together since they were kittens and get along beautifully.
Both like to play and sit on your lap ( of course they will need a little time to adapt to new carers) so may be a reserved initially. They have been indoor cats ,but a home where they could go safely outside after settling in may be suitable.
Both girls are spayed, fully vaccinated and have had regular flea and worm treatments.

These lovely cats are dearly loved and have years of affection and joy to give, they need a forever home where they can settle and be loved.
If you think you can offer them a safe home please let us know.

We have had a few customers ask if we are moving, no we are staying right here caring for your lovely cats ,well into our sunset years!!
