We were delighted to welcome Puppy Power to Sophisticats yesterday.
As some of our customers know we have a mixture of woodland and rough pasture as well as areas which are dedicated to wildlife within our small holding. We are delighted to have Puppy Power using some of our land which is quite a distance from our cattery buildings.
What a wonderful skill to teach and enjoy with your dog.

We hope you’re all having a relaxing bank holiday.
We care for cats all year round, but aren’t open on bank holidays or Sundays for arrivals or departures. Norman services resume on Tuesday, have a lovely bank holiday everyone.

We would like to wish everyone a lovely Easter. Here’s a picture of our dearly loved Bob helping on a previous year’s egg hunt, we do miss him but are grateful for the many years of his gentle company and the joy he brought us.

Unfortunately one of customers is having to sadly part with her two beloved cats, this is not a decision which has been easily reached. We are hoping that one of our wonderful cat loving customers or Facebook followers may be the right home for these two lovely girls.

A little about the girls.
Kiki ( Tortoiseshell) and Martha ( black with a dash of white on her chest) are young girls, Kiki is 3 and Martha will be 3 in April, they have been together since they were kittens and get along beautifully.
Both like to play and sit on your lap ( of course they will need a little time to adapt to new carers) so may be a reserved initially. They have been indoor cats ,but a home where they could go safely outside after settling in may be suitable.
Both girls are spayed, fully vaccinated and have had regular flea and worm treatments.

These lovely cats are dearly loved and have years of affection and joy to give, they need a forever home where they can settle and be loved.
If you think you can offer them a safe home please let us know.

Ever since our poster boy Duirmuid arrived there’s been no doubt about who’s in charge in our house.

Apparently it’s dinner time, so this game is on hold until he’s fed!

It’s been a very busy summer so far, fingers crossed the rain holds off!!
We’ve enjoyed welcoming regular customers and some new ones too.
Our opening times for arrival and departure are by prior agreed appointment , to ensure that we can give our feline guests the most comfortable holiday. Many of our guests are on medication which we like to administer in a calm, quiet environment, so please keep to your appointments or if you need to amend your appointment please agree another time before arriving. No hammering on the door please or tooting your horn please. We know you are here we have alarms and gateways sensors so we know when people have arrived.

We are open by agreed appointment:
Monday to Saturday 10am to 5.15pm
Sundays 10am to 11.45an
CLOSED SUNDAY AFTERNOONS
Closed bank holidays, Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve for arrival and departures We board cats all year around.

Unfortunately we are still having issues with our broadband, having spoken to EE it seems the issue won’t be resolved until at least 30th May , apologies if you are trying to contact the cattery. During the patches of connection we will do our best to get back to you if we have received your message.

Happy Bank Holiday everyone.
It’s a little damp today, but the cattery entertainment staff are still out entertaining our guests.

We’ve been busy so far this year, with the installation of our new car park, ground works were done by a contractor who is just up the road, Jay who’s team are Revamp construction did a brilliant job, we will definitely be using their services in the future and highly recommend them.

We have also had new heat pumps installed in the main cattery, it took us a while to find an installer but definitely worth the wait. Micheal did a thorough assessment and the cattery will cope with any drastic changes in temperature keeping the cats at a nice comfortable temperature throughout the year. The heat pumps are really efficient and really quiet too.

We hope you have all enjoyed and are enjoying the bank holiday weekend.

We are closed for arrival and departure on bank holidays and Christmas Eve.

Well Easter is over and the rain has returned, it was lovely to welcome both returning and new guests to Sophisticats. There are still the spring flowers to lift the gloom, snakes head fritillary outside the green rooms, we love native wild flowers.

Happy New Year everyone. We received this lovely picture of a beautiful cat who stayed when she was quite young. We often give our younger guests a soft toy to cuddle up to overnight when we are hopefully sleeping! We were delighted to see how much she’s enjoyed her kangaroo and look forward to welcoming her back in the future. Thanks for sharing this picture with us x
