Just to let all my customers know that I have had to change my annual leave days in April to May,sorry for any inconvenience,I thought I’d better let everyone know now before bookings came,therefore instead of APRIL 5/4/25–11/4/25 my annual leave is now 10/5/25–21/5/25 thanks again for all your custom and using Bont Elliot home boarding .Diolch/Thank you Karen x

Please please be careful guys in this heat with your dogs,over the years I’ve owned dogs I have seen dogs die from heat stroke,use your common sense:-
Do not walk your dog in extreme heat,if they miss a few walks it won’t kill them.
Do not travel with your dog,go shopping and leave them in a vehicle.
Do not leave them in the garden,with no shade or water.
Here are signs of what to look for in heat stroke and preventions:-
Drooling
Heavy panting
Know how to spot heatstroke
Diarrhoea
Tachycardia
Red gums or tongue
Collapse
Seizures
Shortness of breath
Shade seeking
Vomiting

Avoid hot pavement
Damp towels
Keep them hydrated
Lack of coordination
Lethargy
Limit Exercise
Never leave dogs in cars
Shorter walks
Avoid direct sunlight
Call your vet urgently
Confusion or weakness
Disorientation
Elevated temperature

We've had two requests to search for dogs recently. Sadly they've drowned and at this time of year they have resurfaced before we could get there, leaving their owners with a traumatic task of recovering them.

There are a number of breeds that CANT SWIM or are POOR SWIMMERS. They can sink very quickly and with best efforts to save them it is often not possible.

You rarely get a second chance with water.

Your dog may never have shown an interest in water, or may just paddle. But dogs are instinct reactive and it only takes one accident.

Please don't take the risk. Please keep breeds that are known to be poor swimmers on a lead near water. At least then you have a chance of saving them.

Some of the breeds most known that can't swim/poor swimmers and most at risk are...

• French Bulldogs
• English Bulldogs
• Pocket Bully's
• Pugs
• Dachshunds
• Boxers
• Shih Tzu's
• Basset Hounds
• Corgi's
• Maltese

Only a few weeks ago my friend Gail lost her dog Storm……….Storm boarded with me along with Lottie his daughter and Summa……..tragically on Saturday Gail lost Lottie suddenly from a Pyometra,we are gutted here at Bont Elliot as Storm and Lottie were such beautiful dogs😢sending love and hugs to you Gail and family……..RIP beautiful girl. ###

Well Bowie and I are back after a very busy day…….so the wedding day went beautifully no hitches what so ever,Bowie behaved amazingly bless him, I’ve taken loads of photos,I don’t want to put anything up until I’m told it’s ok too………put here are one or two of the van and Bowie ready to go to Craig y nos 👰🏼🤵🐶

Lovely poem a friend sent me today,so thought I’d share to all my dog owners ❤️🐾 ………..
My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
You don't like pets? Be on your way
They share my home, my food, my space
This is their home, this is their place.

You will find dog hair on the floor,
They will alert you're at the door.
They may request a litte pat,
A simple 'NO' will settle that.
It gripes me when I hear you say,
Just how is it you live this way?

They smell, they shed, they're in the way.
WHO ASKED YOU? is all I can say.
They love me more than anyone.
My voice is like the rising sun,
They merely have to hear me say,
'C'mon, time to go and play."
Then tails wag and faces grin,
They bounce and hop and make a din,
They never say, 'No time for you,
They're always there, to GO and DO.

And if l'm sad, they're by my side.
And if I'm mad, they circle wide.
And if I laugh, they laugh with me.
