Welcome to our Equestrian page!

After years of admiration and a love of horses Sylvia (who runs the rescue) wanted to do something to help the plight of unwanted and mistreated equines as well as educate children about caring for them. In addition to this we also have a group for adults who are struggling or feeling lonely. Here you can meet like-minded people in a supportive environment to spend some time with horses, grooming

horses, walking ponies, learning about horses and care, getting some fresh air and a well needed break from real life. Those who have attended the courses have found they have overcome things they have struggled with in the past, the children course have built confidence and some of the most amazing, courageous, determined, kind people have attended them and still do on a regular basis. We have resident rescued horses that love attention and in turn teach the public about their needs and minds. Please note that this is not a riding school and little or no riding will be involved.

🐴 HORSES LOOKING FOR HOMES 🐴

We have two beautiful equines looking for the right homes.

One is a 5 year old 11.2h and show quality cob. We have broken him to harness very recently and he’s doing well. He is a darling and gets on well with other equines.
Though a cob, we want a home that matches ours. He has a stable and yard and goes out in the day (weather permitting) and is in at night.
He’s very loved and cared for. He is not broken to ride as we don't have a small enough person to do this. He ties, round pens, long reins, and walks out with young and old. He is lovely, and only the best forever home will do.

The second boy is a stunning 4 year old Arab cross 15.2 ish hands, but expected to grow more. He is typical of an Arab. He has the looks of a Greek God, the athletic ability of an Olympian, and the mind of JK Rowling (ie a lot of imagination and can see fairies at times where we see none)
He is as clever as a Collie, and quick to pick up tricks and good habits as well as bad ones.
He needs a person who truly understands the horses mind and can give him endless attention and things to do. We have a stable with yard attached for each horse and this boy plays and play fights over the yard fence.
He loves going in the field if only to gallop around and then find the muddiest spot and roll until he is covered.
This horse is only 4 and is looking for a forever home and hopefully that’s for a hell of a lot of years. He is light weight so needs a light weight rider.
I feel he would be a great horse to do liberty with. He rides English and western, but is still learning some western moves.

I have not put pictures up as everyone would want both of them. We vet homes and stay in touch with those who take our equines in. They would have to be returned to our rescue if for any reason you cannot keep them. We allow a good trial to make sure you are really happy. After home inspection, references are carried out.

Both of these equines need a home where applicants own their premises. The second horse does not like changes and needs stability, and gets attached to his person.

If you are interested in homing either of these equines please email me at [email protected]

Both equines will stay here for however long it takes as only the best home is good enough.

They have both had vet checks ever since we had them and are geldings and good with the farrier. Neither has vices.

My God you will be lucky if either live with you as they are so, so special.

Our tack room is full to bursting with kind donations, but we need some space.
Is there a follower out there who might have time to sell some spare tack online for us?
This would raise vital funds for the care of our horses, ponies and donkeys.

We are in need of some socks, if anyone has any spare.
They don't need to be in pairs.
We use them to go under the hoof boots for our miniature Shetlands to prevent rubbing. If you happen to have some odd socks you no longer need, feel free to drop them up to the rescue. 😁

One of our regular volunteers getting a round pen lesson from Molly and Quarrel.
Volunteering on the equine yard isn't just about sweeping and mucking out. We like to help you learn different skills and find new ways for you to bond with the horses too

We have been updating our Wishlist and would be so grateful for any donations for our lovely equines. We are very much in need of treats, saddle soap, hoof oil and feed supplements.
Our horses, ponies and donkeys are such a mixed bunch of happy equines. They have all been rescued and you can read more about them on the Many Tears website. Thank you
