Pruex Prudent as opposed to excessive antibiotic use on humans, food producing animals and pets can limit the rate of Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR).

Pruex aims to help lead the fight back against Anti-Microbial Resistance (AMR). Pruex work with:

Farmers, regardless of species of animal farmed, to develop evidence based strategies on their farms to enable them to develop and demonstrate to consumers their prudent as opposed to excessive use of antibiotics. Gareth Davies is a 2013 Nuffield Scholar. The title of his Nuffield report being Pasture Utilisation-Yield From The Field. He recently helped Aled Davies analyse the improvements in soil as a result of sheep shed muck treated with Pruex bacteria being applied ahead of spring barley, and compared it to soil that got untreated cattle slurry. Aled got him helping with the health of the sheep shed first.

Sheep sheds might only be used to their full potential during the lambing period, but the fertiliser value of the bedding can be optimised by keeping the type of bacteria dominating aerobic and healthy as opposed to pathogenic. Pruex are joined by a Nuffield scholar to assess the environmental impovements achieved as a result of applying Pruex bacteria dominated sheep shed muck to land and the subsequent improvements in soil quality.
