A very exciting date for your diaries next year!!
Four day, young horse starting clinic!
This is the ultimate experience in developing your horsemanship AND starting young horses.
The four days will cover the fundamentals for starting young horses:
For the horse:
Necessary groundwork, plus optional groundwork for developing performance.
Saddling - do’s and don’ts
Mounting from the ground and block
First rides, and the plan for progression.
Bitting and bridling.
For the rider:
Understanding feel
Use of body language in training
The diaphragm
Footfall, and why it’s so important.
That’s not all! The weekend will be packed full of other talks. From fascial anatomy and bitting, to a horse less session on footfall and use of your diaphragm in riding.
You will get to watch me start a young horse over the four days, while being coached on starting your own. This isn’t an experience you can replicate, this years really was fantastic with all the attending participants getting aboard their horses ☺️
Spectators are welcome under certain conditions. Regular clinic/lesson participants may attend separate days. As can www.goodhorsemanshipchannel.com members. If we haven’t worked together, you may attend all four days, but not individual days. Each day will cover vital parts of the process, and only attending on day 3 will not give you the full experience.
Rider places are limited. The only stipulation is that your horses do not have any major behavioural problems, are over 3 years old and have been seen by a professional physiotherapist/chiropractor etc who has confirmed they are physically ready to be ridden. They must also have seen a qualified equine dentist.
The dates for this clinic are April 10-14 2025. It will be held in Llangollen, just past Wrexham, North Wales. You can register your interest with me now to go on the list.
I can’t wait! It’s the clinic of the year!
This year I got told off for not letting the participants go to sleep and keeping them in the arena til 9pm 😂 realistically… it might be the same next time 😂
