Having grown up on a dairy farm in North Herefordshire, Hannah has been immersed in agriculture from a young age.

Inspired by her family's farming legacy, she developed a keen interest in all aspects of dairy production.

After a year working on a New Zealand Dairy farm 🐮, Hannah joined Wynnstay in 2023 to apply her practical knowledge to calf and youngstock rearing. Her hands-on experience and problem-solving skills make her a valuable asset to the team.

Is your flock itchy? It might be Sheep Scab! ❌🐑
What is Sheep Scab?

It's a contagious skin condition caused by tiny mites called Psoroptes ovis. These mites burrow into the sheep's skin, causing them to itch and rub uncomfortably.

🔍 Signs to Watch Out For:
- Scratching and rubbing
- Wool loss
- Scabby patches on the skin

Sheep scab can wreak havoc on your flock. Don't let it happen to you! Learn how to prevent and treat this contagious disease.

Sheep scab is an allergic dermatitis which is caused by the mite Psoroptes ovis. It is a highly contagious condition as the mites live and feed on the skin and so they are easily spread onto in contact sheep.

Meet Lily Pardoe, Trainee Calf & Youngstock Specialist. 🐮

Lily has always had a passion for agriculture, particularly within the ruminant sector. She graduated from Harper Adams University with a BSc in Bioveterinary Science. After graduating, she went on to work a Veterinary Technician for a large vet practice in Shropshire

Lily joined Wynnstay as a Calf Specialist in 2022 and now supports farmers across North and Mid Wales. Combining academic and practical skills, she provides advice focusing on calf health, welfare, and nutrition to help farmers optimise performance in their youngstock.
