πΎπΎ Children & Puppies πΎπΎ
As a Puppy Trainer I know the importance of making sure children interact with their pups the right way.
Understanding what is acceptable and what isn't and why. Encouraging children to be kind and gentle with their pups to forge that amazing friendship built on trust and mutual respect.
In this course we had the pleasure of helping Meghan (14) and her sister Mali (9) along with their puppy Mickey.
Omg!! They were sooo good with puppy Mickey, so kind and patient and handling skills were amazing.....a joy to see!!
Here's Mali showing us her party trick at Graduation Night! π₯°πΎπΎ
πΎπΎ Thank You! πΎπΎ
Even after 14 years of being a Puppy Trainer I'm still always blown away by my puppy owners kindness, thank you for my gifts and card, and your lovely feedback, it means the world to me.
Big thanks also to my fab assistant Seb!

πΎ 121 Puppy Recall Sessions Available πΎ
As many of you know aswell as being a Puppy Trainer I'm also a dog walker and have been for 23 years.
I've been lucky enough to walk many puppy's that come through my puppy classes.
Today I welcomed a new member to my fab gang, Penny, you may recognise her from my puppy classes back in March, it was her first walk so I popped her on a training line and tried a recall....sure enough Penny came running.....as did Alba Louis and Piksi....this really made me laugh , recall should be fun and rewarding....you get results like this! π
βI offer 121 puppy recall sessions so if you are struggling with recalling your puppy or don't know how to start the all important recall process then please get in touch!! β
πΎπΎ Focus & Fun! πΎπΎ
Keeping you pups focus and attention is super important and can really help when out and about on your daily walks.
Imagine being able to keep your pups attention whilst a jogger cyclists or even another dog passes by - it can be done!
During the Puppy Foundation Course we teach many fun and easy exercises to do just this!
I love this video taken after last week's puppy class, you'll notice very quickly pups Bonnie, Madi and Phoebe are not interacting with one another but are more focused on their owner's....in fact every owner! Even though they had the opportunity to interact they chose not to - WOW!!
πΎπΎ Building a reliable recall πΎπΎ
During the 8 week Puppy Foundation Course we cover many exercises on how to achieve a reliable recall ....
πΎ How to use a training line and why we recommend using one
πΎ Use a cue word for recall - don't just repeatedly call pups name - nobody likes a nag!
πΎ To be successful choose quiet areas with no or little distractions
πΎ Build reliability by using fun focus games such as the Funder Game or Touch
πΎ Praise and reward recall make it worthwhile for your puppy...have fun!!
Just a few tips and exercises we cover through the course..
Here's Tess Caddy & Mylo doing the Funder Game in this week's class not only does it build a great recall it's fun!! ππΎπΎ
πΎ When do I stop training my puppy ?πΎ
As a Puppy Trainer I get asked many many questions but this one "when do I stop training my puppy?" Is probably one of the most common one.
The answer....you never stop training!!
With all of the dogs I've had over 30 years now I've always done bits of fun training everyday of their lives , whether that's walking nicely on a lead, recall from many different distractions, fun focus games, mixed in with our walks where they get plenty of time to just sniff !!
Here's my Piksi with today's dog walking gang I took the opportunity to do a recall from quite a distance, funny they all actually came running to me!!!
Whatever training you do, make it fun and rewarding and don't forget to praise them!! πΎπΎ
πΎπΎ Having fun! πΎπΎ
Puppy classes should be fun, puppies and owner's learn far more in a fun filled environment....
I love it when I see pups having fun... here's puppy Ruby nailing her recall challenge at Graduation Night last night!!
πΎπΎ Children & Puppies πΎπΎ
Well done to Bethan Chloe and Harri for being so kind and patient with your puppy Max...helping and watching you during the course has been a pleasure.
One of today's games was recalling puppy, have to say Max's recall is great and one of the most chilled I've ever seen ππ

πΎπΎ Children & Puppies πΎπΎ
I really try and encourage children to come along to puppy classes, it's so important to educate children on the right way to interact and respect their puppies.
Every now and then I get children attending classes that just blow me away with the way they are with their puppies, Ava and Owen were just amazing, so kind and gentle with puppy Ruby and even offered on many occasions to help me in puppy class....so lovely to see the bond between children and their puppies ππΎπΎ
Here's Ava doing a challenge at Graduation Night.... keep puppy in a sit whilst she did a spin....she nailed it of course!!
Ava & Owen you are super stars π€©

ππ Party Night ππ
I love Graduation Night ending the Puppy Foundation Course with party games and just having some fun!!
Puppy training should be about learning lots of new exercises in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
This video sums it up nicely! ππΎπΎ
πΎπΎ Making your walks fun!! πΎπΎ
Keeping your walks fun with your puppy is super important, if they are having fun with you they are far less likely to run off and not come back to you.
During my Puppy Foundation Course I show owner's some simple but effective fun games to do whilst out walking with their puppies.
Having fun with my dog walking gang today playing hide and seek , not sure who was having the most fun though me or them πππΎπΎ
πΎπΎ Walking in the rain! πΎπΎ
Anyone else love walking in the rain??!
My Tuesday dog walking gang and me having fun in the rain!
Some puppies aren't fans of the rain and let's be fair we need them to get used to it living in Wales!!
Introduce them to a coat, ideally one that doesn't go over the head but fastens around their neck and belly , make sure you are popping them some treats to create a positive association too!
Puppies who don't wear coats will get wet and cold and won't enjoy their walks or may even be reluctant to walk in the rain .
All of my gang including my Piksi have been introduced to coats as puppies and they love a fun walk in the rain.....enjoy! πΎπΎ
