One more space is available on August 10th for the “Groom Your own dog” day course. 10am-2pm. Does your dog struggle when you try and brush the tangles out, do they try and mouth you when you get the nail clippers out. Or do they run and hide when you run the bath. I can show you the basics to avoid all of that and make the grooming at home more enjoyable for you and your pet. This is the cat we found recently going through our rubbish. We have named her Emily and she’s doing very well but is anyone missing this cat? We have taken her to the vet and has been checked over. She has been wormed and has had flea treatment. She has no microchip. We are looking for her owner or is there someone who could offer her a loving home? The vets think she is about 7-8 years old but she has been living rough for a while. Emily is very affectionate and is domesticated. Safe now and has a huge appetite😂

Update😂 Monty now rules the roost lol ❤️ We can learn so much from animals, he is so happy and every day I’m greeted with this lovely excited little face. He has a bounce in his step and lots of love to share.

When you go to other countries where it’s hot, feral dogs choose to sleep in shaded areas around shops etc and they start their adventures in the evening when it’s cooler. It’s absolutely fine NOT to walk your dog on a very hot day. Early morning and in the evening is the best time to do it. Dogs cannot sweat like we do and can overheat very easily.

This adorable little dog came in for her first hair trim. A dog’s first trip to a professional dog groomer should be before 4 months old. This is because there is a small window where they are less fearful and more accepting of new experiences. An early experience with a groomer will get your puppy used to being brushed, shampooed and dried. After 16 weeks, it’s likely that the puppy may be fearful and anxious and this may result in certain behaviours that make grooming more difficult. Introducing bath time, brushing and nail cutting should be introduced correctly to promote a positive experience.

Now that summer is approaching, it’s important to keep your dogs coat shorter than usual to keep your dog cool.
