Christmas event βοΈπβ
Get yourself (and dog) booked for some festive fun !
We will be playing some games based fun with a Christmas twist!
But also you'll get some Christmas dog treat baking tips and tips to ensure you have a calm rather than crazy Christmas π
Well from a dog training point of a view anyway ππ
Choice of 2 classes in persons and 1 online π
Hi guys!
Who wants to teach their dog the 'sleepy' position? πͺπ΄π₯±
Does your dog jump between calm / excited states? π
Are they quite often over aroused?
Or do they pick high arousal, when you need some calmness? π
Can they think in high arousal? π€―
Really important for things like recall and listening when excited / anxious.
The bookings for the next subscription class are open and as always places are limited!
This session is all about arousal levels!
π©΅ Saturday, 9th November, 11:00 - 12:00 pm (in person)
π Tuesday 19th November, 5 - 6 pm (online)
Please drop me a message to secure your place β€οΈ
That's the last bit of admin done tonight, before my holiday β€οΈ
If you bob me a message, please note my response time may be longer than usual. Please be patient π
A little reel of just some of the cuties from this year ! To help you through the week π₯°
Penny got some squishy sprats from DogFest from Durham Animal Feeds ππΎ
Perfect excuse to play 'find it' in my overgrowing lawn ππ
Loose lead walking (LLW)
I have had a few people ask me about the walking gear I suggest to train LLW.
A HARNESS ! π―
All the way, unless there are certain circumstances to warrant not using one!
Harnesses don't cause pulling ! π’
Louder in the back, for those that didn't hear !
A HARNESS DOESN'T CAUSE PULLING !
It's your dog wanting to get to / away from something, regardless of the walking gear that's caused pulling.
Usually, clients come to me as their dog is already pulling on lead, so for safety, I'd rather use a well fitted Y shaped harness to protect the dog from the potential of a neck injury when using a collar.
We build engagement with the owner and value in staying close, which is amazing for LLW but also recall too β€οΈ
Remember, LLW is your criteria! β
Penny has a loose lead here, we walk quite fast (got to burn π° off)! But she'll slow if I slow.
Is she at my side? Nope.
Do I care? Nope.
But that's my criteria.
When teaching LLW I always ask my clients to be clear to me, AND their dog, what is the expectation for LLW.
Quite often it isn't a heel, more just a don't pull me over jobby πβΊοΈ
I can't believe it, but that's week 4 of 4 on Parkour π
Everyone has had an amazing time, it's been fabulous! π€©
I have loved the confidence of all the dogs and watching their skills grow over the weeks π€©
The crazy antics from some humans added a merry end to today's seasion! You know who you are π€£π πΉ π¨
Police the ground game.
Inspired by Help My Dog β€οΈ
Who's needing to keep their dogs entertained in this heat?
A neat little trick to teach your dog is a paws up on an object !
But this is more than a trick!
This helps with focus, confidence and even disengagement from distractions β€οΈ
Another hot one tomorrow! π₯΅
So, how about flexing your dogs confidence at home and keeping cool!
With Penny's recent upset tummy, she had some noise sensitivity, so I set up a noise pool today π
She can sift through and find yummy chicken, while making noise and whining at the game β€οΈ
Games based training is brilliant, identify your dogs struggle, we figure a game for the dog/owner to play and set them up for learning success!
If you have a dog who struggles with confidence, drop me a message. I'd love to help β€οΈ
On this very hot day, how about teaching your dog a new trick?
Spins are great!
Good for fitness, confidence and happy behaviours π₯°
New tricks are great for mental stimulation too, and if you are as daft as me and struggle with Left and Right, it can be mentally taxing on the owner too ππ
Give it a whirl!
Team Baxter are smashing it π₯°
Who remembers Beautiful Baxter and his car worries?
His amazing owner struggled with getting Baxter back in the car anywhere other than home. Which was making their world super small πΆβπ«οΈ
Well, over the past few weeks Baxter has been hopping in and out of the car with ease! In a few different places and even some new places and around distractions too!!!
He actually hopped back in the car so quickly on today's session, I barely managed to catch it on video π€£
What a fab problem to have π
Well done Team Baxter !
Who's this bundle of cuteness ??
It's Betty π
Betty and her amazing owners are with me for a puppy 121, we have got loads of training planned to help them navigate the land shark...... I mean puppy journey π
We are diving into puppy biting, toilet training, calmness, optimism, appropriate socialisation and visitor protocols, to name a few amazing topics.
Betty, is such a clever girl, and she has very understanding owners helping her. So I am sure she will excel π€©
Wow looks at Team Chester go π₯°π₯°π₯°
Chester struggles with chasing cars and we weren't able to get his attention. With lots of great work from Team Chester he is now recalling away from car chasing.
Still work to do with stopping the chasing, but Chester is showing value in coming back to his owner and disengagement from the chase, which he loves.
Amazing π
And the Parkour course competition winner is π₯
Yep we did a low techy techy (but fun), sniff out the winner challenge π€
Miss Penny takes her job very seriously, and I dutifully selected her first sniff. π₯°
Well done Lois Whitaker ! I'll be in touch !
Thank you everyone who took part!
Spots are still available, so please sign up !
