"We are not restricted to following a certain training ideology or method, we put the dog's welfare (including long term welfare) above everything else. In situations where we need to use some form of aversives to change behaviour, we can competently use them with none of the risks of emotional or behavioural ‘fallout’. Every training plan is presented to the dog's owner to make an informed decision based on the costs and benefits ratio.
We are firm advocates of the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) approach to training. Our methods utilise positive reinforcement and various types of differential reinforcement and science based techniques to modify behaviour.
A lot of our training system is based around play and the impact games with objectives, rules and penalties can have over many dogs. Our training is fundamentally about building trust and cooperation in your dog. Play, in the way that we use it, is radically different from most other dog training professionals. Play is recognised as one of the 7 primary emotions as discovered by Jaak Panksepp (neuroscientist and psychobiologist).
Ultimately we work with the dogs genetic makeup and formulate our training around the individual dog to achieve outstanding results." - Super Canine - Dog Training position statement
