Little Otto came in for a keyhole surgery with Dr Rebecca and he was the bravest boy 💜⁣

When surgery is needed, we offer keyhole procedures where we can as they allow for a quicker recovery time and less pain than major abdominal surgery for your furry friends. It’s never easy watching them go into surgery, but our vet team are here to make them as comfortable as possible, and the cuddles are always included!⁣

Otto rested up in our recovery pods afterwards, and we were thrilled to see he made a very speedy recovery. He was back to his normal self in just a couple of days!⁣

A big thank you to everyone who joined us at our neighbours' AT feast for a coffee date with our vets, David, Rebecca and Sam last week. We loved meeting you all! Pups, coffee and a good chat - we can't think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

Meet our founders, Dan and Russell (the humans).

When Dan welcomed two new furry family members in the midst of the pandemic, he quickly discovered the everyday highs and lows of being a pet parent...

His Bernese Mountain Dog, Nala, wants to cuddle all day long. And despite weighing 45kg, she insists she’s a lap dog. Enzo, a Silver Labrador, was particularly difficult to toilet train and, thanks to lockdown, was scared of everyone and everything. But after receiving all the belly rubs and treats from dog lovers on his walks in Regent’s Park, Enzo eventually realised the world wasn’t so scary after all.

Dan struggled to get vet appointments when he needed them - he even ended up registering with six different practices. And once he did get Nala and Enzo seen, the experience always left him feeling underwhelmed.

And, as a veterinary surgeon with 23 years’ experience, Russell is all too familiar with the problems within the vet care system. Hot on the heels of a post-Covid pet parenting boom, many vets are overworked and burnt out, with some of the best and brightest walking away from the industry for good.

Dan and Russell’s mission at Creature Comforts? ‘Healthier pets & happier vets’. We’re shaking up the vet status quo to build a better experience for pets, their parents, and vets alike.
