Pets At Home fundraising is well underway.

Thanks for your support to our Hatfield Pets At Home branch, we will be there for 24 hours leading up to Christmas for this annual event.

Name: Shirley
Breed: Bulldog
Age: Unknown but around 3 years old
Children: Seeking an adult home.
Dogs: Not dog friendly.
Cats: Not suited to living with cats.
Feeding: Raw fed.
Health: Previously has suffered with UTis. Has dry eye.

Shirley was brought to Glendee after her owner wanted to have her euthanised, she was living in a home where social services were involved and children, where it was requested that Shirley should not remain.
Ideal home: Her ideal home is with someone that understands Bulldog traits, that she is sensitive but also clear in her communication with you when she dislikes something. She was a dog that showed guarding tendencies but since being with us, her training program will reduce this more and more as long as it is followed.
Training requirements: She will be required to follow the training she has begun whilst with us, as it is working to help her feel differently about how she interacts with the world.

This is our current assessment, the assessments are on-going as always, and although we temperament test our dogs in many situations, we cannot know how they be when they arrive in your home, support is given as always be given by the trainer you are matched to.

Alfie is around 11 years of age.
He is great in the home, but likes his own space.
He is in a flexi foster home, he comes and goes so we know a lot about how he is in a home.
He has, from time to time growled at his foster it is when he isn't happy about being handled. But these events are less and less now.
He is fantastic at his training, and we are working on helping him with this, and things are easier and easier for him now he knows how to manage his triggers. And anyone adopting him will be supported to do this with him.
During his training sessions he can now do things he couldn't do before he arrived. But any potential homes would need to continue to work with us and him.
He is a smart guy and loves his training.
He loves his walks and enjoys them very much.
He is more comfortable with women than men, and due to the above information, he is looking for a home where he lives with adults.

Laurie is an 8 month old puppy.

He is a bedlington Terrier x Jack Russell.

He loves walking, and playing with other dogs.

He is looking for a terrier savvy home, he could live with children that are old enough to know about dog's body language, so we are suggesting over 14's would be ideally suited.

He is more comfortable with women over men.

He is in foster in Hertfordshire, and any applications should be emailed to Glendee Rescue.

Rita has been doing some training in coping being in the office, it previously stressed her being in here, the table jumping still continues though....... typical Glendee dog, they love their perches!

Omar spent a few months with us searching for his perfect home.

I am so happy to give this happy news, that earlier this week, his Christmas wish for a sofa this year came true!

He is now happily working his way into his new adopter's hearts.

Be happy lovely fella, we are delighted for you. You deserve this life, full of love.

As we step towards Christmas, the elves at Pets At Home are busy helping to keep working to raise funds for rescues like Glendee.

We are so grateful to them for all they do for our dogs and cats.

You never know what you are taking when you commit to helping some of these dogs. They often arrive with limited information.

Whist investigating his vet history it came to light that sweet, darling Omar here was shot with a gun whilst in his first country of origin.

And yet here he is, still the sweetest and most adorable boy. Even when humans have been so cruel, he is a victim of a crime, but holds no grudges.
