We need your help to end greyhound racing. 📢

Between 2017 and 2024, over 4,000 greyhounds died and more than 35,000 were injured on UK tracks. These aren’t just stats – they’re lives lost and dogs suffering, all for so-called “entertainment.”

Greyhounds are being forced into danger every time they race – from unsafe track design to high-speed crashes, the risk of injury or death is very real.

We’re calling for an end to greyhound racing in the UK, followed by a phased, five-year wind-down to ensure every dog currently involved is protected and given the chance of a safe, loving future.

Help us end the cruelty. Write to your MP today and speak up for greyhounds.

⭐️⭐️Cystitis in cats top facts⭐️⭐️

🐱Feline idiopathic cystitis in cats (FIC) is inflammation of the bladder with an unknown medical cause.

💊Cystitis in cats is very common and easily treated with anti-inflammatory medication, but can recur.

😾Stress is thought to be the most significant cause of cystitis in cats, so there is lots owners can do to help.

‼️Owners of male cats must look out for warning signs of a blocked bladder which is a serious, life-threatening condition, which can have the same symptoms of cystitis in cats.
(see picture below for signs of a blocked bladder)

🩺Please contact your vet if you have any concerns about your cat.

After 42 days in our care, Marty is losing hope of ever finding his forever home... but it only takes one kind person to change Marty’s life. Could it be you? 💔

This gentle, affectionate, and playful boy is looking for a caring home where he can be the centre of attention and receive all the love he so deserves.

He adores human company and loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa for a cosy TV session- Springwatch is his absolute favourite! Marty would thrive in a home with safe outdoor access, where he can enjoy fresh air and the freedom to explore.

You may notice from his photo that Marty is blind in his left eye. We suspect this might be discouraging some potential adopters, but please don’t let it put you off- his eye doesn’t cause him any discomfort and doesn’t need any treatment.

If you think you could be the one to give this sweet boy the loving home he’s been waiting for, click the link below.

At 9 years old, Luna is a gentle and affectionate soul who absolutely loves human companionship. From belly rubs and ear scratches to cosy cuddles, she’s a true sweetheart who thrives on connection.

Luna perfectly balances relaxation and playfulness, she loves her naps but also enjoys a lively game of tug. Trigger warning. 🚨

Autumn was found in a field in horrific condition, suffering from rain scald, with her spine, ribs, and shoulders clearly visible. 💔

The field had poor grazing, littered with piles of building rubble and other hazards.

After her former owner was prosecuted for neglect by the RSPCA (England & Wales), Autumn was transferred to our care for further training, aiming to find the elderly mare the loving new home she deserved.

It was clear that Autumn didn’t know how to be a horse, as she had spent more time around people than with other horses.

With plenty of physiotherapy, massages, stretches, and exercises from our team, she began to improve.

After six months at the rehoming centre, Autumn moved to one of our volunteer fostering yards, where she flourished alongside other horses.

Although she had been overlooked for a long time due to her size and age, she was finally adopted by a new owner who was looking for a companion for her mare, Perdy.

“Autumn and Perdy have become two peas in a pod, and we’re so grateful we could offer Autumn a place to call home with us.”

Found under a bridge in a box, puppy Athena and her four littermates were in grave danger, starving and infested with worms. 💔

As strays, the litter needed to spend a mandatory seven days with the dog warden in case they were claimed.

However, being the runt, Athena was being badly picked on by her siblings, raising concerns for her safety, which is when we stepped in.

Instead of spending a week in the council pound, Athena completed this period at Blue Cross, where nobody came forward.

Our team worked tirelessly to care for her wounds and help her gain vital weight.

She slowly realised she no longer had to fight for her food, was finally in a safe place, and gained the weight and strength she needed.

Thankfully, the man who reserved Athena was smitten from the start, and, after 31 days in Blue Cross care, she went to her new home – a 28-acre country estate, where her owner works. 💙

Unlike humans, dogs cannot sweat through their skin. They rely on panting and releasing heat through their paw pads and nose to regulate their body temperature. 🌡️

As temperatures rise today, be aware of heatstroke signs and act quickly. Share this information to help save lives.

Nacho and Cheddar are on the hunt for a 'gouda' new home where they can grow in confidence and thrive together. 🐀

At just the right age to bond deeply with their people, these sweet girls will flourish into affectionate, entertaining companions with a little time, patience, and plenty of ratty snacks.

They’re looking for a rat-savvy family or someone excited to learn who can offer a spacious setup (at least 120cm x 90cm x 60cm) filled with cosy hideouts, enrichment, and room to explore.

Found in a bin behind a pub, these two brothers were discarded like trash. 💔

Covered in filth and surrounded by dirty nappies, the poor kittens had their whiskers cut off and were covered with ticks and fleas.

Luckily, the terrified pair was rescued by a staff member who discovered them and brought them into our care, where they received the attention they desperately needed.

After their ordeal, Bramble and Pebbles were nervous and fearful, but our team dedicated time to building their confidence and trust, just in time for them to be adopted together. 💙

We urge anyone struggling with a pet to contact Blue Cross or another charity for help, rather than abandoning a pet.

21/06/2025

After heartbreakingly losing her beloved owner and cat companion in the same week, Dinky now finds herself alone, nervous, and unsure of the world around her - hence her being a bit camera shy. 💔

Dinky is looking for a gentle, patient home where she can feel secure and understood. She would thrive in a quiet environment with a garden, giving her the freedom to explore and settle in at her own pace.

She would benefit from the gentle presence of a calm cat friend who can guide her through this new chapter, show her that brighter days are ahead, and bring back the confidence she once had.

Despite all she has been through, sweet Dinky still holds onto hope that a new, loving home is out there. 🏡

Could you be her second chance?
