💕Meet Beatrix, Buddy, Dippy, Mr Porky and Slinky 💕

These five tiny kittens arrived to us absolutely terrified 😢thought to be only around five weeks old, they were huddled together, shaking with fear. 💔It’s always heartbreaking to see an animal scared, but when they’re this young it’s especially sad, as you can only imagine what they’ve already been through.

🏡They were placed into a loving foster home to decompress, learn that humans can be kind, and discover that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.❤️‍🩹

🐾Slowly, in their own time, they realised that humans bring love, cuddles and security. That there are toys to chase, places to explore and lots of fun to be had!🧶

🥰Watching them blossom has been such a joy. Instead of five frightened kittens, we now have five confident little bundles of mischief… each with the cutest bum wiggle just before they pounce. 🐾💓

🐾Meet Prince🐾

🏥He was sadly left in his carrier in our waiting room, and it’s been a confusing and frightening time for him. 😢Life in the hospital has felt very unsettling and stressful, but Prince is safe ❤️‍🩹and he’ll soon be heading to one of our rehoming centres, where he can start his next chapter.🖤

🐾We understand that people’s circumstances can change. But it’s never okay to abandon an animal.

💔If you’re struggling, Blue Cross along with many other animal welfare charities can offer advice and support. Lots of charities are currently full to bursting and may not have space straight away, but they will always do their best to work with you.

Bobby had a tough start, spending long hours alone and developing severe anxiety. 💔

Adopted in middle age by a loving family and their four cats, he finally found happiness, until a traumatic dog attack caused his anxiety to spiral.

Knowing he needed a calmer home, his family made the heartbreaking decision to bring him to us.

Missing his feline friends, Bobby struggled until fate stepped in. A cat named Socks had just lost her best dog friend, and her family hoped Bobby might be the companion she needed.

The moment Bobby arrived, his tail wagged, and Socks and he bonded instantly.

Now Bobby has the comfort he’s always needed, and Socks has her new best friend. ❤️

Miracles do happen! After 234 days in our care, we are excited to share that Nemo has been adopted just in time for Christmas! 🎁 This means they will spend their first Christmas with their new family in a loving home.

💙 Meet Cindy Lou 💙

❤️‍🩹Cindy Lou’s journey with us began after a frightening accident. She was rushed to a private veterinary practice after being hit by a car, where it was discovered she had sustained a badly broken pelvis and urgently needed surgery.

🐾The vets reached out to us to ask if we could take Cindy Lou on — and of course, we said yes. She was transferred to our hospital and, once stable, underwent surgery to repair her pelvis using a metal plate.

🩺It was a long and complicated procedure, but we are incredibly fortunate to have such amazing, talented vets here at Blue Cross who were able to give Cindy Lou the care she so desperately needed.

🏡Once she is ready, Cindy Lou will be heading into a loving foster home where she can rest, recover, and continue her rehabilitation in comfort. We truly would be lost without our dedicated foster volunteers, who open their hearts and homes to animals like Cindy Lou when they need it most 💙

💕Cindy Lou has many weeks of rest and healing ahead of her, but for now she is doing well and receiving lots of TLC from our team. We’ll be right by her side every step of the way.

We’re deeply disappointed that, following the launch of the government's Animal Welfare Strategy for England, they have confirmed there are no plans to end greyhound racing. 💔 Despite sustained pressure from animal charities and a petition led by us that reached more than 100,000 signatures.

While bans in Scotland and Wales are now being actively pursued, Westminster continues to overlook racing greyhounds, like Cricket, who arrived in our care with severe, complex injuries after a life on the track.

We will not stop speaking up for greyhounds. We will continue to push for an end to greyhound racing and for the protection these dogs urgently deserve.

Trying to survive in the wild after being abandoned in freezing conditions, Dasher, Blitzen and Donna must have been terrified. 💔

Heartbreakingly, these rabbits once lived safely in a hutch but were allegedly released when their owners vacated the property.

Believed to be siblings, the trio thankfully stayed close to one another and were soon rescued by the RSPCA before being brought to us.

Exposed to the cold, with no food and constant danger from predators, it’s unlikely they would have survived much longer without help.

Despite their ordeal, the three coped brilliantly in our care, and before long, each had found a loving new home. 🩵

We’re celebrating a truly special milestone! 🎉

It’s been ten years since we launched our Home Direct scheme, and in that time, more than 300 horses have found loving new homes through it.

Home Direct has become a real lifeline for owners facing difficult decisions, helping their horses move straight into new families while easing pressure on our rehoming centres.

And thanks to this scheme, horses like Neville were able to settle into their new homes right away.

A huge thank you to our incredible rehoming teams, whose hard work and care make this scheme possible. 💙

Age should never be a barrier when adopting a pet. 💔 After being repeatedly rejected because of her age, Marjorie was close to giving up - until she called us.

At the same time, Lola had been placed on our Home Direct service. Her owner loved her, but after moving to a flat with pet restrictions and no outdoor access, they knew Lola needed a better home.

Struggling with online forms, Marjorie applied over the phone with help from our adoption coordinator, who immediately knew that Lola would be a perfect match.

Now Marjorie and Lola are inseparable and will spend their first Christmas together, proving age has nothing to do with offering a loving home. 🎄

It’s been over a month since Lana came into our care, and not a single application has been received. 💔 It breaks our hearts, because this girl is aching for a home to call her own.

We worry that her unique appearance might be making people hesitate, but in our eyes, she is the most beautiful girl.

Her owner made a truly heartbreaking decision to surrender her when it became clear she wasn’t coping with the other pets in the home.

Lana is chatty, playful, and full of affection, and we can’t believe she hasn’t been scooped up yet.

Deaf, partially blind, and suffering from painful injuries, Dennis was found abandoned in a bin when he was just six weeks old. Luckily, someone found him just in time. 💔

We don't know how Dennis sustained his injuries, but one thing was clear: he needed urgent care.

Petrified, filthy, and unsteady on his feet, we quickly provided veterinary care, and Dennis was placed with an experienced foster caregiver that first night.

With daily attention, his wounds healed, and he grew more confident on his feet. After 24 days with us, he moved to his loving new home, where he is now cherished.

Thanks to the person who rescued him and the critical care he received, Dennis will be spending his first Christmas warm and happy.
