Meet our unluckiest resident, Jeremy. 💔 Despite Jeremy's heartbreaking past, Jeremy still hasn't found their perfect match.

We believe that his need for personal space and not being comfortable with being touched might be putting people off.

This , please help Jeremy find the love they deserve! 👉 https://bit.ly/42iwa0q

Alone and completely matted, Jeremy barely had any human interaction for nine years. Living in a breeding facility in a concrete kennel with no windows, he was terrified. 💔

Our foster carer, behaviour, and rehoming teams have worked incredibly hard with Jeremy to help him rebuild his trust in people.

Due to his lack of experience with interaction, Jeremy does not like being touched. He is seeking a patient owner who understands his needs and respects his space and boundaries to help him progress.

Could you provide Jeremy with the loving home he deserves? https://bit.ly/42iwa0q

🧐Did you know that neutering your cat could save their life?

🐱Particularly in female cats, being spayed can greatly reduce their risk of breast cancer and prevent an infection in the womb know as pyometra, and in males it can stop their urge to roam and fight which could lead to accidents and infections.

🩺World Spay Day is coming up, and in conjunction with CatKind, we’re hosting a neutering event at our Victoria Hospital.

ℹ️To find out more, call our Victoria hospital and get your slot booked in.

Spotted crying and starving on an estate, his finder made the right decision bringing Benedict into our care. 💔

He quickly earned a reputation as a chatterbox with had an unusual head tilt, but upon investigation, we realised that he was trying to tell us that he had an inner ear infection.

Our team provided the necessary treatment, but the infection left him with a permanent head tilt.

After monitoring his mobility and continuing his treatment, he was finally ready for what he had always dreamed of, a home.

And he found just that! 💙

🐱Handsome Hobs🐱

🎄Hobs was a stray we took in just before Christmas.

🥰He was very grateful to be in the warm and no more wondering where the next meal was coming from.

💤Once he knew he was safe he had a long cat nap.

🩺His health check was all fine except for some superficial scratches and scabs, most likely from cat fights.

💉We got him neutered, chipped, vaccinated and gave flea / worm prevention.

🚐He soon headed off to one of our rehoming centres and handsome Hobs did not wait long before someone fell in love and offered him a home.

🥳We were delighted to hear Hobs found a home.

🍯Meet Honey & Bee 🐝

🏥They were abandoned outside our Hammersmith hospital, they had a quick health check before coming over to Victoria.

🐰We think possibly siblings but they are both very sweet and inquisitive.

🩺Whilst with us they have been neutered, chipped, vaccinated and had flea / worm prevention💉

🚐They didn’t have to wait long for a space at one of our rehoming centres and we hope Honey & Bee don’t have to wait too long to find a home 🏡

Tiny was found abandoned in the waiting room, in an extremely bad state. 💔 With a ruptured eye that was out of its socket, we can only imagine the pain this poor girl endured.

Our team at our Victoria animal hospital worked tirelessly to help her. Unfortunately, her injury had been left untreated for too long, and her eye had to be removed.

Fortunately, Tiny recovered remarkably well. In gratitude, she showered our staff with love and cuddles.

This sweet girl went through so much, but the outcome was worthwhile as she is is now in the loving arms of her new owner.💙

🤒Due to unprecedented staff sickness across the board we will not be able to see you if you are late for your appointment.🥴

⌚️Allow extra time for travel to get to the hospital 🏥

🤧If you are feeling unwell, please rebook your appointment if this is possible to protect others from catching the cough, colds and flu that is going round at the moment 😷

💙Thank you for your understanding💙

Halo hopes that her being deaf isn't putting off people from adopting her. 😢 With very few applications, we need your help!

This affectionate and sweet girl is looking for a patient owner who has the time to continue her training through hand signals. Halo may also need some help with toilet training, but she’s made great progress so far!

Halo enjoys her walks, her ball, and cuddling up on the sofa, so we have no doubt she would make a fantastic companion.

Deaf dogs make wonderful pets and they learn just like any other dog does. 💙

Help us share the good news that Halo has been waiting for. 👉 https://bit.ly/4jSSMeu

😞We are sad to report that in December we had 2 break-ins to our Victoria hospital and buildings.

🏥Although we have teams onsite 24/7 they are looking after our very sick patients giving them the constant care they need.

💔The thieves managed to take around £700 in cash and equipment, leaving us without vital equipment and necessary funds at a very busy time of year.

🤞🏼Actions like this have a knock on effect throughout the charity and what we are able to provide, so if you would like to help us recover some of our loss please head over to our donations page and give whatever you can. Thank you! 💙⬇️

Tiny Waffle was just a few weeks old when she was found collapsed in the road. 💔

With a low heart rate, Waffle was taken to a nearby veterinary charity, where she was revived and placed in an incubator.

Waffle later came to us for rehabilitation, but life can be tough for a kitten raised alone without a mother or siblings to learn from.

Fortunately, Waffle had a lucky break when she was united with a trio of abandoned kittens who immediately welcomed her into their clan.

Waffle and her adopted siblings, looked so similar that it was hard to tell them apart.

Before long, Waffle experienced the sibling bond she had been missing, and all of them were welcomed into loving new homes. 😻

When Bramble came to us from a private vets, anaemic, underweight and bleeding from the mouth, we feared the worst. 💔

However, an ultrasound showed a large foreign body and exploratory surgery revealed it was actually an impacted fur ball, caused from overgrooming due to a severe flea allergy. Once the fleas were dealt with and the hair ball was removed, Bramble could slowly heal and was soon relaxing in a new home.

Bramble was lucky to make it to us in time and although his was a severe case, vigilance around flea control meant this could have all been avoided. Check out our website for help and advice on treating fleas 👉 https://bit.ly/4a4embl

It’s unclear why these pet rabbits were left alone in their hutch after their owner moved away. 💔

The tiny bunnies, just a few days old, were discovered along with their mum by chance when the new homeowner arrived.

We are grateful that the new homeowner moved in when they did; otherwise, the rabbits would likely not have survived.

After receiving plenty of veterinary care from our Thirsk rehoming team and a safe space to grow with one of our foster carers, these rabbits have finally found the loving home they deserve. 💙

🐱Meet Ellie🐱

🏥We were asked to help Ellie by the local authority after her owner sadly went into hospital and would not be returning home.

❤️A kind neighbour had been caring for Ellie for 4 months, popping in daily to feed and care for her.

🏡Ellie arrived just before Christmas and we put her into a foster home for a few weeks.

🧶Ellie found it quite overwhelming to begin with but she did start to show her playful and affectionate side.

🩺She returned back to us in the New Year and we gave her a health check, flea / worming and vaccinated her before she transferred to one of rehoming foster carers.💉

😞At 8 years old Ellie is classed as a senior and due to her reserved nature she hasn’t had any applications.

🤞🏼Please share and help Ellie to find a place to call home.

🐱Meet Martin.

🚮Martin was found abandoned by a bin on the pavement.

👀He was spotted in the early hours of the morning and brought into us.

🥺Poor Martin was terrified and didn’t know what was happening.

😞He spent the first day hiding under his blanket , worried what would happen.

🥹Slowly but surely he realised he was safe and we found that cat nip was his favourite thing! He started to ask for head rubs and knew he was safe.

🏥Martin was an entire male, as you can see he has the big tom cat cheeks! These have now reduced in size since he has been neutered as you can see in the last pictures.

🩺He also had a health check and apart from being underweight he was in good health, he received flea/worming prevention, was vaccinated and microchipped💉

🚐Martin has left us today to go to one of our rehoming centres where once settled he will be looking for a home and a spot on the sofa to call his own.

🥰We have loved watching Martin grow in confidence and hope he isn’t waiting too long for a place to call his own.

📹We made a little video of Martins time with us, enjoy!

🏥Our Hammersmith hospital had a mum and her 3 kittens taken into them yesterday that were found abandoned in a box in Ravenscourt Park.

‼️There were originally 4 kittens but one escaped and ran off, please if you are in that area keep your eyes peeled and if anyone finds the kitten please do bring into the hospital and we can reunite the kitten with their mum and siblings.

🐱The little family is now with us at Victoria where we will let them settle in, give them a health check and get them transferred to one of our rehoming centres to find a home 🏡

Not every cat coming into our care is looking for a traditional home setting, which is why we carefully review every cat's needs and assess them thoroughly before their adoption journey begins. 💙

Previously from a multi-pet household, Oreo found living with other cats very stressful and ended up spending most of his time outdoors, scavenging through bins and fending for himself.

Now used to living independently, Oreo is therefore looking for a rural home, such as a farm setting, with a minimal cat population. He's still sociable with people so would need indoor access too, as long as he's free to come and go as he pleases. Do you have a special home for a special cat like Oreo? 👉 https://bit.ly/4alNhk3

Hamlet suffered an agonising broken jaw and severe body-wide bruising when he was hit by a car in London. 💔

Kind witnesses to the collision spent more than an hour trying to catch the terrified boy, who was fleeing and hiding despite being in unimaginable pain.

Exhausted and struggling to move, they eventually managed to scoop Hamlet up and bring him to our animal hospital.

Our vets performed an operation to wire his jaw back in place, while broken teeth and bone were removed, and a feeding tube was fitted, as he was unable to eat.

The odds were stacked against Hamlet, but we saw glimmers of improvement each day, and he was placed in foster care so that he could recover in the comfort of a warm and loving home environment.

Because of your donations, we could give Hamlet round-the-clock care from our expert team. Not only is he no longer in pain, and can now eat on his own, but he is now in the arms of a loving family.

We know how difficult January can be, but if you can donate, you can help us give more pets like Hamlet a second chance. 💙

⭐️⭐️Cystitis in cats top facts⭐️⭐️

🔹Feline idiopathic cystitis in cats (FIC) is inflammation of the bladder with an unknown medical cause.

🔸Cystitis in cats is very common and easily treated with anti-inflammatory medication, but can recur.

🔹Stress is thought to be the most significant cause of cystitis in cats, so there is lots owners can do to help.

‼️But owners of male cats must look out for warning signs of a blocked bladder which is a serious, life-threatening condition, which can have the same symptoms of cystitis in cats.
(see picture below for signs of a blocked bladder)

🏥Please contact your vet if you have any concerns about your cat🩺

If ever there was a photo to sum up this snuggly Caturday. 💤

As sweet as their name suggests, Apple and Strudel are a (very!) bonded pair looking for a new home together.

A little shy around youngsters, they could live with older children as the only pets in the household. Meet them 👉 https://bit.ly/4a7ZcSs

Buttercup was terrified after being abandoned on a stranger's doorstep. 💔 Underweight and showing signs of pain in her hind legs, she was brought to our animal hospital in Victoria.

While the x-rays of her back legs were inconclusive, we provided her with supportive treatment, rest, and pain relief. Gradually, she began to regain sensation in her hind legs.

Although we may never know the kind of life she had before, we can confidently say that Buttercup is now healthy, happy, and surrounded by love in her new home! 💙

Having been with his family as a much-loved pet since a puppy, when a baby came along, Wesley's behaviour changed and over time he became increasingly worried. Despite trying their best to work on this, after a few grabbing incidents with the toddler and another baby on the way, his family made the difficult decision that he would be happier elsewhere and brought him to us. ❤

We often get asked why we don't rehome particular dogs with children and Wesley's story explains this well. The team knew it was imperative that he was rehomed to a home without young children where he could live life to the fullest. And after a short stay with us, he won the hearts of a lovely, older couple where he's enjoying the run of the house and garden.

Winston's story was so heartbreaking that many of us were in tears. 💔

While we don't know much about his backstory, we do know that a passerby witnessed Winston being thrown into a river while trapped in a cat box by a group of kids. 😢 We can only imagine how terrified he must have been.

Initially too scared to eat, Winston took a while to come out of his shell, understandably nervous after his ordeal. Gradually, he understood that we meant him no harm, allowing us to provide the treatment he desperately needed for his flea infestation.

We are thrilled to share that Winston no longer has to endure the life he once knew. He is now happy and loved in a new home. 💙

Meet Barry, a dog who is so terrified of fireworks that he refuses to go to the toilet. 💔

Owned by one of our team, Barry is one of the many animals affected by fireworks, making celebrations like New Year's Eve very challenging.

Currently on behavioural medication, Barry's phobia is so severe that he has struggled to go for walks since Bonfire Night and now reacts fearfully to sounds like car doors slamming.

We urge you to put pets first and reconsider any plans to host or attend at-home fireworks displays. 🎇

🐱Meet Matty🐱

☺️Matty is the most sweetest, affectionate and happy cat.

🚗We took him on from a private vets after he was taken there after being involved in a suspected RTA.

🩻He suffered a pneumothorax (this is when air accumulates in the pleural space, the area between the lungs and chest wall) this was treated and the air removed.

🩺Matty was also lame on his left hind leg which showed he had ruptured his cruciate, Matty underwent surgery to repair this, we also neutered and microchipped him at the same time.

❤️‍🩹It will take Matty a while to recover and heal from his surgery but he has gone off to foster today to receive some much needed TLC as he is still quite sore and requires strict rest.

🏡Once ready we will then find him a home and a sofa to call his own.🛋️

🥰 Marvellous Matty 🥰
