Thunder and Ally are searching for a home to spend their twilight years curled up together. ✨

This cuddly senior duo love a fuss. You'll find them snuggled up next to you on the sofa, or on the windowsill watching the world go by.

Despite their age, they still enjoy a game of hide and seek with each other and they'll faithfully follow you about the house to see what you're up to.

They're hoping for a calm, quiet home to relax in with their human companions and have plenty of love to give. 💙

Could you offer them the retirement home of their dreams? Click the link to meet them! 👉 https://bit.ly/3M2XdH0

🐰Thumpkin,Thelma & Louise – Safe now🐰

💗Meet our trio of little adventurers who have had quite a frightening start to life.

🚂Thumpkin was found abandoned in his carrier at Victoria train station. Just a few days later, 📦Thelma and Louise were discovered in a box outside a bank in Victoria.

😥For all three rabbits, this would have been incredibly scary – cold, confusing and alone – but thankfully they were found in time and brought safely to us.

‼️We understand that circumstances can change and people may need help rehoming their pets. But abandoning animals is never okay. All welfare organisations, including ours, can offer advice and support, and can look to offer space when needed – though there may sometimes be a wait due to high demand.

🏥Now that they’ve settled at the hospital, all three bunnies have shown just how sweet and inquisitive they truly are. They’ve each had a full health check, parasite treatment, vaccinations, and have been neutered and microchipped.🩺💉

💕 Thelma and Louise are a bonded pair and will be looking for a home together.

💙 Thumpkin will soon be on the lookout for a neutered female companion, as rabbits should never be kept alone – they are incredibly social animals who thrive with company.🐰🐰

🥰We’re so glad they’re safe, warm and cared for. Here’s to new beginnings for these lovely rabbits. 🐇💛

A huge thank you to the incredibly kind person who sent in dog treats from our Amazon Wishlist! 🐾💙

There was no name included in the box, but please know how grateful we are. Your generosity means so much to our team and, of course, to the dogs who will be very excited to enjoy their tasty treats!

Thank you for thinking of them 💛🐶✨

With her sweet nature, it’s clear Duchess was once a much-loved pet.

But when her owner became seriously ill, there was no one left to care for her - and she arrived in a heartbreaking state. 💔

Without her medicated baths, Duchess’s skin had become sore and raw, and she was losing fur. She was also suffering from ear and eye infections, as well as painfully long nails.

Once in our care, Duchess began to recover. She had treatment to soothe her skin, and regular eye drops eased her discomfort.

When she first came in, she was shut down, but now she relishes human company. Just 49 days later, Duchess was unrecognisable - healthy, happy, and in a new home. 💙

🥺Beautiful River was found abandoned in a communal bin shed 💔. It’s no wonder she was frightened and unsure when she first arrived with us.

❤️‍🩹Understandably, River found life in a kennel quite stressful — she was happiest when she could wander freely around the cat ward, exploring at her own pace and getting used to us in her own time. 🌿💙

🩺She’s now had a full health check, been neutered, microchipped, and treated for fleas and worms — ready for a fresh start and a brighter future. 💉

🥰We’re so glad River was found and brought to safety — from bin shed to warm bed, her journey to happiness has truly begun. 🐱✨

Abandoned at our gates, crammed into a carrier, covered in fleas, and heavily pregnant, Elphaba must have been terrified. 💔

She arrived just two days before giving birth to six kittens. Sadly, one kitten was stillborn, but five tiny boys, Bauble, Starlight, Claus, Tinsel, and Twinkle survived, thanks to the care they received during that critical first night.

As 2025 draws to a close, we’re still facing a pet homelessness emergency. Too many pets like Elphaba are being abandoned and left to survive on their own.

By donating, you can help provide a Critical Care Kit that includes pain relief, antibiotics, warm blankets, nutritious food, and fluids - everything needed to care for a frightened and vulnerable pet during their most crucial hours. 🎁

Please help us be there for homeless pets, like Elphaba and her babies, this Christmas.

Who remembers Frankie, the sweet lurcher obsessed with toy pigs? 🐷 After 264 days of waiting patiently in our care, he’s finally found a loving home!

Huge thanks to our Suffolk rehoming team for taking such great care of him during his long stay.

Let’s all wish Frankie and his pigs the happiest new beginning with their lovely new family! 💙

Poor Piglet hasn't had a lot of luck lately...

Piglet was brought to us as he and his brother weren't getting along. He soon found a home with a lovely female guinea pig friend, but sadly she passed away. 💔

Now, Piglet is feeling quite lonely and is hoping that third time's the charm. 🤞

This sweet boy would love a home with a girl guinea pig to bond with. Piglet absolutely loves fresh veggies and will come take them out of your hands!

If you could provide a home with a female guinea pig (or more!), then click to meet Piglet. 👉 https://bit.ly/43n9mMQ

🤔 Is that stray cat actually a stray? 🤔

🐈‍⬛Did you know that the ‘stray’ cat who’s always turning up at your home for a bite to eat may actually have a family of their own?

🐈Many of the stray cats who came through our doors have clearly lived in a home before, but without a microchip we had no way of reuniting them with their loving owners, even though since June 2024 it has been compulsory for cats to be microchipped!

❓❓How do I know if a cat is stray❓❓

🏡Often cats seem to be strays but actually have a home. Due to their nature they do tend to roam and can appear to be lost.

🏷️Put a paper collar on the cat (you can download this from our website)

🗣️Ask your neighbours if their cat is missing or if they recognise the cat.

🐱Consider putting up a ‘found’ poster with a photo of the cat

🔍Check local ‘lost and found pets’ groups on Facebook

📞Call your local vet or rescue centre to see if they know of anyone looking for that cat

This , we’re celebrating our incredible foster carers, like Wendy - who open their hearts and homes to pets in need. 💙

By offering a temporary haven, they create space in our rehoming centres to help even more pets who need us most.

Losing a pet can be deeply painful, yet many men find it hard to open up about their grief. 💔

Social pressures to “stay strong” can make it even harder to talk, but sharing those feelings truly helps.

Our Pet Loss Support service provides free and confidential support via phone, email, web chat, or our Facebook group.

You don’t have to face it alone. 👉 https://bit.ly/44hpd0a

A kind local had been feeding a stray cat in their garden for weeks, until one day, they got a surprise when she wandered inside and gave birth to three kittens! 💙

Seeking a safe place, this clever mum, now named North, clearly knew who to trust.

The finder brought North and her kittens into our care, where we treated them for fleas to prevent flea anaemia, which can be fatal.

Thanks to this stranger's kindness and our wonderful Suffolk team, this little family has now found loving homes.

🐾 Meet Sesame – our little superstar! 🐾

❤️‍🩹Sweet Sesame was found unable to walk and brought into our care 💔.

🩻X-rays revealed she had a serious fracture, and sadly, it couldn’t be repaired. The only option to relieve her pain was to amputate the damaged leg.

❤️This brave youngster, thought to be just 6–9 months old, has taken everything in her stride! 🌟

Sesame has adapted brilliantly to life as a tripod cat and is now living her best life — full of energy, affection, and confidence. 💕

She’s proof that animals don’t dwell on what they’ve lost — they simply keep going, with courage and joy. 🐱✨

As the nights draw in and temperatures drop, these colder months mark a race against time to save pets’ lives. ❄️

Across the UK, more homeless pets are arriving at our doors, with too many pets being abandoned or given up out of sheer desperation. 💔

Many arrive starving, injured, or too weak to survive the harsh winter nights alone, and their first night in our care is often critical.

In the lead up to Christmas, we’ll be sharing stories of pets who, thanks to your support, are now safe, healthy, and loved in their new homes.

But this winter, too many still need our help. By donating today, you can give vulnerable pets the vital care and comfort they need this winter.

This Remembrance Sunday, we're remembering the men, women and animals of war. This beautifully moving painting is called 'Goodbye Old Man' and shows a British soldier saying farewell to his dying horse. Painted by artist Fortunino Matania, it was commissioned by The Blue Cross Fund in 1916 to raise money to help relieve the suffering of horses on active service in Europe. Over one million horses saw service with the British Army during World War and we treated thousands.

🥰Meet Maid Marion — our latest (and furriest!) Underground adventurer! 😺✨

📍This curious young cat took herself on quite the journey, travelling all the way from Newbury Park to Shepherd’s Bush on the London Underground!

💙Thankfully, a kind commuter spotted her and handed her to the station staff, who made sure she reached the safest destination of all — Blue Cross Victoria. 💙

🏥Once she arrived, our veterinary team gave Maid Marion a full health check. She’s now been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and treated for fleas and worms — ready to start her next chapter in life (hopefully with fewer train rides!).🩺💉

🎟️Now warm, safe and being thoroughly spoiled, Maid Marion has swapped tube trains for toys, treats and plenty of cuddles. We think she’s definitely earned her own Oyster card after that adventure! 🐈‍⬛🚇

🐾 Meet our “Traitors” trio – Claudia, Joe & Alan! 🐾

📧We were contacted by another charity asking if we could help three tiny kittens, thought to be only around 4 weeks old. Of course, we couldn’t say no! 💙

🏡Our Welfare Officer took them home to foster, and it didn’t take long for their little personalities to shine through…

🎬 Claudia – The star of the show! She loves nothing more than sitting proudly in her TV scratcher, waiting for her audience to appear.

🧗 Joe – Our fearless adventurer, always climbing, exploring and getting into mischief.

💤 Alan – The sweetheart of the trio. He lets out the tiniest meow to be picked up, then snuggles under a jumper for a cosy nap.

💕They may be small, but this Traitors-themed trio has stolen our hearts already!

🎆 Bonfire night is here 🎆

💥Loud bangs and whistles can be painful for animals, especially with their sensitive hearing.

📣Here are our top tips to help keep your pets safe and calm this Bonfire Night:

📺 Distract with familiar sounds – Slightly raise the volume on TVs or radios if your pets are used to the noise.

🪟 Block out the light – Close blinds or curtains to reduce flashes.

⛺️ Create a safe space – Make a cozy den for pets to retreat to if they want privacy.

🐈‍⬛ Cats - Keep cats safe indoors – Keep them inside after dark, provide extra litter trays, and close windows to prevent escapes.

🐕 Dogs – Walk them before dark, ensure collars and ID tags are on, microchips are up to date, and offer a chew to keep them occupied.

🐇Small pets – Cover hutches or move them indoors if possible, adding extra bedding for burrowing.

🐦 Birds – Cover aviaries to reduce noise and limit visual stress from fireworks.
