Brave and beautiful Apollo ❤️ was a street cat rescue💪 who lost an eye due to a bad infection and has limited sight in his remaining eye, but he won't let anything slow him down! Such a golden boy for his check-up 🌟🌈

Some cats can find it stressful visiting the vet. Margot here was not a big fan, but thanks to a conversation with our vet, we were able to provide a suitable pre-visit treatment that helps keep Margot calm while she's here.

Introducing our new Vet Nikolina Chatzipantazi👩🏻‍⚕️Swipe left to learn more about Nikolina's love for the work we do here at The Urban Vet.

Nikolina joined us towards the end of 2023 and we've had a blast working with her so far in 2024! Some of you will have met Nikolina already, and some of you may meet her soon.

Handsome Albert was brought to see us in November after he started walking in constant circles.🐾 (Warning: Mildly Graphic Image⚠️)
(Warning: Sweetest Toe Beans!)

After being examined by our vet and undergoing some tests, Albert was referred to a specialist neurologist as we were concerned that he may have a lesion in his brain. 🧠

Thankfull, we do not see these cases very commonly with our patients, but Albert was found to have a walnut sized tumour between his brain and his skull, called a meningioma.

⭐️ These tumours are often benign (non-cancerous)
and come from the membranes lining the brain
rather than the brain itself.

The amazing Albert underwent surgery to remove the tumour, which resolved his clinical signs. Hopefully, this will mean it does not come back!

He has since been recovering very well at home with his lovely owner, as can be seen in the photos.

We all have our fingers crossed for Albert that his recovery continues to be smooth and event free! 💌💞

This sweet bunch of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels are model patients for the Vet🐾 They came in for their Annual Vaccinations and were as good as gold! 🏅

These cuties, named Miss Molly, Albie, Bear and Rolo are owned by our good friend Nick who works with the lovely team at just round the corner from us on Garratt Lane! 🫶

Paul's cat Saffie visited us recently for a health and dental check, she will need a full dental assessment under aneasthetic in the near future.🩺🦷

Dental disease is thought to affect 70% of adult cats and dogs. It is a known cause of pain and discomfort which is an important cause of pain and suffering, even in cats who appear to be “fine” - that's why a regular annual exam can help catch these things soonwr rather than later.

Dental disease is common, and in the vast majority of cases, it is caused by ‘plaque’.

Preventative dental care focuses on reducing the buildup of plaque on the teeth, a film of bacteria and debris that accumulates on the teeth over time.🪥

Today we send Laura, one of our fabulous Vets, on her Maternity Leave! We will miss having her here day to day but we are all very excited for the journey she's on!🙏🏻💞🍼

This is Shilo, she is all ready for Christmas as you can see! 🔔🎄 🎅 Swipe to see more ➡️

Shilo is a gorgeous American Curl cat, the points of their ears are distinctively curved backward giving them a mouse-like appearance.

The American Curl is affectionately nicknamed the "feline flying nun" as well as the "Peter Pan of felines" for its kitten-like attitude that remains throughout adulthood.
