Fantastic day for D-O-G students at the Rookie Challenge, their first time ever in a dog grooming competition. First off Annie placed 2nd in the under 1 year experience class with Parker 🥈next Alexia placed 3rd with Belle 🥉and Lucy placed 2nd with Molly, both of them in the 1-2 years experience class. Lucy also received a special recognition award for potential. Big congratulations to you all and we are so proud 🥰

🐩 2 days City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate of Technical Competence in Dog Walking 🐩

This course is designed for students who wish to become professional dog walkers.

This course offers current and future dog walkers a solid basis of what is required of a competent dog walker. It will also give your customers reassurance that their dogs are in the safest hands.

Course Length: 2 study days at the college, half a day has been allocated to complete your assessment.

•You will learn what are the responsibilities and roles of a professional dog walker.

•You will learn about many different Legislations and Codes of Practice.

•You will learn about breeds and behaviours.

•You will learn about First Aid and Emergencies.

•You will learn how to conduct Health Checking of a dog.

•You will learn to read body language of a dog and how to deal with different temperaments of dogs, and then selecting and fitting suitable restraining equipment.

•You will learn about controlling a dog in your care.

•You will learn about issues you are likely to encounter as a professional dog walker.

•Upon successful completion of the course, written task and practical assessments, the above qualifications will be awarded.

•Course materials will be provided.

🐩 1 Day Taster Course 🐩

Taster course will give you an insight into dog grooming and will enable you to decide whether a dog grooming career is right for you.

•Great opportunity to learn the preparation of a dog's coat including bathing, brushing and drying of the dog under our direction.

•Understand about different breeds and their coat types, various grooming techniques and learn how to handle dogs correctly.

•This course will give students an appreciation of what the longer courses involve and a give an insight into how the courses are carried out.

•If you decide to book one of our longer courses within 20 days, the one day courses fee of £150 will be credited against the course fee.

🐩 16 Days City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants (7763-02) 🐩

Designed for students who wish to become Dog Grooming Assistants and get awarded with the City & Guilds qualification. This course will also enable you to learn different styling techniques.

Course Length: 11 days hands on salon training and theory supervision, plus 5 days on-line material provided for study.

•First Aid Course included with OFQUAL certificate.

•You will reach full competence in preparation of a coat ready for styling including bathing, brushing, de-matting and drying of a dog’s coat.

•You will learn all different coat types and will be confident to deliver styling as requested by pet owners.

•You will learn how to control and restrain animals and how to handle and lift dogs correctly.

•You will learn how to maintain the cleanliness and bio security of the animal care working environment.

•You will learn how to clean and maintain equipment used for grooming.

•Upon successful completion of required practical and theory assignments, the above qualification will be awarded.

•Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to enrol to the City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (7863-03) qualification.

Designed for students who wish to become Professional Dog Stylists and get awarded with both City & Guilds qualifications.

This is a combined course allowing you to complete both levels at the same time. As part of the City & Guilds qualifications, certificates on Handling Animals and Business set up and management are awarded.

Course Length: 32 days hands on salon training, plus 13 days on-line material provided for study

•First Aid Course included with OFQUAL certificate.

•You will become fully skilled in the preparation of various different types of coats ready for styling including bathing, brushing, de-matting and drying of dog's coat.

•You will learn different grooming techniques including hand stripping, clipping and sc******ng.

•You will learn how to control and restrain animals and how to handle and lift dogs correctly.

•You will learn how to maintain the cleanliness and bio security of the animal care working environment.

•You will learn how to clean and maintain equipment used for grooming.

•You will have a chance to style and finish to a high standard a large variety of breeds of dogs.

•You will learn how to conduct Health Checking and Dog Handling within the salon.

•You will learn about Health and Safety, legislation and code of practice for the dog grooming industry.

•You will learn good customer service and record keeping to be able to run a successful dog grooming business.

•You will be encouraged to make your own decisions in assessing the dog and the work that is required which will include the tools and skills used to complete the style required/requested.

•Upon successful completion of required practical, synoptic assignment and theory exam, both qualifications will be awarded.

🐩 16 Days City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants (7763-02) 🐩

Designed for students who wish to become Dog Grooming Assistants and get awarded with the City & Guilds qualification. This course will also enable you to learn different styling techniques.

🐩 34 Days City & Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming (7863-03) 🐩

Designed for students who wish to become Professional Dog Groomers and get awarded with the City & Guilds qualifications.
The City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate for Dog Grooming Assistants qualification (7763-02) is a pre-requisite for this course.

🐩 20 Day Intensive Dog Grooming Course 🐩

This course is designed for students who are looking to start a career within the dog grooming industry, but do not wish to do the course awarded with the City & Guilds qualifications.

You will however, receive the same level of teaching in terms of practical skills as our City & Guilds students completing the combined City & Guilds Level 2 & 3 course.

You will have access to our on-line learning, you will be provided with the course books and will also have a chance to build up your grooming portfolio.

There will be no practical or theoretical exams at the end of the course. A D-O-G Grooming Studio Certificate of attendance will be awarded at the completion of the course.
