Can you spot something that shouldn't be there in the first two pics? 🦷🐾

Juno came into Chiswick for a routine spay but she also had a retained deciduous ( milk ) tooth. X-rays showed an intact root meaning that it is unlikely that the tooth will come out of its own accord. If left it can cause problems for the teeth nearby. Dr Alice removed the baby tooth, Juno is recovering nicely post procedure!

This is Muezza she can in to .vets because she was vomiting and very unwell.

She was quickly diagnosed with low blood potassium which would affect her heart and nervous system if left untreated.

X-ray allowed us to diagnose bunching of her intestines and, after managing her dehydration and potassium imbalance overnight at our 24 hour hospital in Fulham, we operated to remove a 20cm long woollen yarn that was bunching and damaging her intestine.

She was kept in hospital for TLC and monitoring until we were happy that her intestine was recovering well and then went home for more love and cuddles.

Linear foreign bodies can be fatal and cats are fascinated by string and wool. Muezza’s owners sought out help at the right time and we hope that she should make a good recovery.

With it being Christmas, please be very careful of fairy lights, tinsel, ribbon from presents…

This adorable little munchkin came into our Fulham clinic for our out-of-hours service, coming from our fantastic partner practice,

Her owner was concerned that she might have ingested a cigarette, so we induced vomiting and showered her with plenty of cuddles.

Soon after, we happily returned her to the care of the wonderful team at

Image one: As I’m sure many of you will already know, Alice is our head vet at Chiswick. Dr. Alice graduated from the RVC in 2010. She has since been awarded postgraduate qualifications in both surgery and management. Alice is the head vet at our Chiswick hospital and is launching our laparoscopic service, running daily clinical operations, and receiving internal and external soft tissue surgery referrals.

Alice is an Advanced Practitioner in Small Animal Surgery and a certified BOAS assessor, using the latest techniques to improve these breeds’ breathing. Alice, as you can tell, is thorough and driven to provide the best care to both our patients and pet parents.

From James: ‘As most of you are aware, Attie is our family dog. Recently, he was shying away from being petted on his hips, and when I examined him, he was sore. It was important to work out why this was the case, so we scheduled a CT scan of his hips and an investigation into inflammatory joint and bone disease.

Luckily, he does not have a bone or joint disease, but there was going to be something to find.

Attie has hip dysplasia; this is not just an old dog problem. He already has signs of arthritis, and despite being happy to jump over fences and charge up and down the stairs, he has painful hips. He does not need much done yet, only anti-inflammatory painkillers and joint supplements, but he will need yearly hip X-rays and will likely one day need hip replacements. Early screening makes a huge difference for dogs like Attie, and at Wolfe Vets, we have the tools and expertise to diagnose and treat problems early.’

If you have any questions about Attie and what led us to be concerned about his hips, please ask away, or if you have any questions about your fur babies, please ask below, and I’ll get the team to reply ❤️.
