Life is better on the inside, especially when the outside is so cold! 🥶

Remember that our furry companions need extra consideration when it’s very cold outside. Here are some tips to keep your pets safe, happy and warm:

1) Wash your dogs feet with warm water or a wet cloth after walks. This will get rid of any irritating grit stuck in their paws 🐾
2) If your cat has access to the outdoors, make sure they are kept inside at night. Also don’t accidentally get locked out during the day! 🐈❄️
3) Keep your walks shorter than normal. In this weather, it’s better to increase the frequency of walks, but decrease their length 🦮
4) Be careful of cats that seek warmth under cars or in engines 🚗
5) If you use antifreeze, be extra vigilant to clean up after and not to leave any lying around. This is exceptionally toxic to dogs and cats! 🚫

We had the pleasure of helping Sebastian the African Pygmy Hedgehog recently. He had a nasty infected lump growing on his belly which we had to remove surgically.
