🐈 Importance of vaccinations 🐕

We all want the best for our pets, especially when it comes to keeping them healthy, we know there is a lot of information about vaccines and it can become very confusing so we are here to break it down for you.

Vaccinations are needed to

✅️Protect our pets from nasty, life-threatening diseases

✅️Give peace of mind

✅️Create or boost our pets' immunity to certain diseases

✅️Prevent our pets from passing on a disease such as Leptospirosis, which can be passed from animals to people

Sadly, a lot of the diseases our pets can catch if they aren’t vaccinated are fatal in most cases. Even if your pet catches one and is able to recover, they will often be left with long-term problems, which can put them through a lot of pain and distress and leave you with some costly vet bills.

What's vaccines cover-

Dogs 🐕
● Leptospirosis
●parvovirus
●Canine distemper
● hepatitis

Cats 🐈
●cat flu
●infectious enteritis
●leukaemia virus

Rabbits 🐇
● myxomatosis
●haemorrhagic disease 1 (rhd1)
●haemorrhagic disease 2 (rhd 2)

Our Pets should be vaccinated while they are young to protect them. Vaccination courses for kittens and puppies start from around eight to ten weeks old. Rabbits can have their vaccines from as early as five weeks. After their first course, your pet will need yearly boosters to keep them protected.

DONT FORGET THAT VACCINES ARE INCLUDED IN OUR AMAZING VIP PLAN -

Koko was in for her spay last week.

But why do we spay our cats?

Apart from the obvious not being able to get pregnant after the procedure.

It help prevent behaviour associated with being in ‘heat’, which can include calling, spraying, and trying to escape or wandering further than normal

reducing the risk of womb infections

reducing the risk of tumours and certain cancers, for example mammary cancer (which is over 90% less likely if cats are spayed before six months old)

Have more questions about neutering your female cat? Book a call back with one of our nursing team who will be happy to talk you through the procedure.

⚠️ The importance of pet insurance ⚠️

Pet insurance can give you peace of mind knowing you will be financially protected in the event of your pet suffering an illness or injury.

With the unpredictable costs of vet visits, not having pet insurance could mean the risk of being hit with an expensive bill if an unfortunate worst-case scenario occurs.

Did you know that at The Animal Clinic we offer 5 weeks free insurance with agria for all kittens and
puppies just like little daisy and minnie 🐕🐈

Why not ask our reception team on your next visit for more information. 🐾

🦮 The importance of vaccinating your dog 🐕‍🦺

We all want our dogs to stay happy and healthy. This is why we vaccinate them against some horrible life threatening diseases.

What are these diseases?
❗️leptospirosis
❗️parvovirus
❗️canine distemper
❗️hepatitis

Dogs need two vaccinations 2-4 weeks apart, usually starting when they are 8 weeks old (but can be started at any time in life), then yearly boosters to keep their immunity up.

You can get your vaccinations included in our VIP plan!

If your dog has missed a vaccination, or you are unsure if they are covered, then please give as a call today and our friendly reception team will happily talk you through the process 🥰
