It was brilliant to meet the team at Two by Two Veterinary Centre this week! I did a lunch and learn on happier vet visits for their lovely canine and feline patients. It was great to do this as mental and physical health are interlinked. 🐾

Due to growth since we opened in 2017, we are expanding and seeking a fourth Vet to join our team. We are seeking a small animal Veterinary Surgeon with 3+ years UK experience to work 40 hours per week, or part-time.

If you would flourish in a busy practice providing excellent care to clients and their pets, this is an excellent opportunity. There is a varied caseload, and you will undertake a mix of consultations and routine surgery and have case continuity. You will be comfortable with some sole-charge and interest in exotics is advantageous.

REGISTERED VETERINARY NURSE, NORTH LONDON - INDEPENDENT PRACTICE

Please share! We are seeking a skilled Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our thriving independent practice, Two By Two Veterinary Centre. Due to growth since we opened in Finchley in 2017 we are expanding and seeking dedicated nurses to be a key part of our friendly and professional team. Opportunity to work in N22 as well as N3.

As we see exotics, experience in this area is preferred. There is also an opportunity to run nursing clinics.
You will be eager to support an SVN by providing clinical coaching. For an experienced candidate there could be a chance to be part of the senior leadership team with the practice owners and contribute to business development.

The full-time role is 40 hours per week on a rota 8:30am-7pm, part-time and flexi working applicants are welcomed. Please state your preferences on application. No Saturdays or OOH, although our clinical team works Sunday 10am-2pm on a 1 in 3 rota.

£31,000 to £36,000 FTE dependent on quals +experience

Our Finchley practice has modern and spacious facilities and we are proud to have built up a loyal community of clients who to whom we provide a friendly, caring and individually tailored service that puts pets health and wellbeing first and foremost. Our newly built practice in Alexandra Palace will open in the summer (currently being fitted out!) and we are recruiting staff to work at our sites.

Did you know that there is a new law that cats must be microchipped before 20 weeks old and their contact details stored and kept up-to-date in a pet microchipping database?

By 10 June 2024 owners found not to have microchipped their cat will have 21 days to have one implanted, or may face a fine of up to £500.

All change for prescribing medication

Dear clients, prescription only medications’ now legally require a vet to physically examine your pet at the time of prescription. Even if they have been prescribed medication without a visit in the past, they may now have to come in.

Key changes are:
- All antibiotics, antifungals, antivirals and controlled
drugs (which include gabapentin, phenobarbitone
and tramadol) require an in person physical exam by
our veterinary surgeon at the time of prescribing.
- This applies to all flea, tick and worming
treatments including: Simparica Trio, Milprazon,
Stronghold Plus and Selehold. It also applies to all
antibiotics including creams, medicated ear drops and eye ointments.
- Antibiotics cannot be prescribed based on
photographic or video evidence only e.g. Isaderm®, Isathal®,
Malaseb® and Synulox®.

So please book an appointment with us for your pet in order to receive their medication.
