🐾🎃 October 31st is quickly approaching! Halloween is a magical time of year but it can also be a little spooky for our furry friends. 🎃🐾

As the nights get darker and the streets come alive with Halloween spirit, we kindly remind all pet parents to keep their beloved companions indoors during this festive season. Here's why it's so crucial for their safety and well-being:

🎆 Loud Noises: Loud celebrations, large crowds and fireworks can be frightening for pets. Keeping them indoors helps reduce their anxiety and ensures they feel secure and nothing bad happens to them.

🌙 Nighttime Adventures: Cats, in particular, are naturally curious creatures and might be enticed by the mysterious sights and sounds of Halloween night. It's safer for them to enjoy their own adventures inside.

🍬 Candy Concerns: Halloween candy is a no-go for pets! Chocolate, sugar, and some artificial sweeteners can be toxic to our furry friends. Keeping them inside prevents any unwanted snacking.

🚀 Escape Artists: With so many people coming and going, doors can be left ajar. Cats and dogs are clever escape artists, and this is a high-risk time for them to slip out.

🧙‍♀️ Costume Safety: Some pets may not appreciate costumes as much as we do. We prefer to keep the costumes strictly for the humans. If you absolutely must dress them up for the holiday please ensure they're comfortable and safe.

The Glue Traps (Offences) Act 2022 officially comes into effect today, making it illegal to use glue traps in England except under license 🙌

These inhumane traps are so adhesive that any animals trapped on them are unable to free themselves, causing prolonged and unnecessary suffering.

Often used for animals people deem 'pests', they also impact non-target species including wildlife and beloved pets like Basil.

The use of glue traps has been restricted in Wales since 2023, so we warmly welcome this ban which will help to make England a safer place for every kind.
