Happy Spay Day to our adorable calico teenage girls! 🧡🖤🤍

Poppy, Pixie and Petal are waiting to be picked up to go to the vet today to be spayed. This is an absolutely vital part of the work we do: to make sure no more unwanted kittens are born.🏆

The procedure is straight forward, and the girls will already be back in their loving foster home this afternoon where they can recover, get lots of snuggles and treats. 😻

Most teenage kittens recover very quickly and we wouldn't be surprised if these three are running around again like the crazy loons they are very soon. 🤸

We are so proud to be able to do this work.These girls aren't on the street, going into heat and risking injury or FIV. They won't need to struggle finding enough food when pregnant or nursing. They won't need to be terrified for the safety of their babies in the harsh urban environment of London. They won't have babies who will grow up on the street, vulnerable to disease, injury, or abuse. And they won't have babies that overstretched animal charities will have to take in and rescue. 🐈‍⬛🐈🐈‍⬛🐈

Spaying and neutering cats is the most important thing you can do for animal wellbeing. ✔️

Meet Lena and Poppy 🐈🐈

Poppy is a stunning tabby with the sweetest round face and yellow eyes and Lena is a gorgeous calico with a stripy tail.

The girls have been with their foster family for a few months now and although they were quite shy at the beginning, giving them plenty of time to adjust has helped them feel completely at home and show their true personalities.

This is what their foster family say about them:

"Lena is turning into an absolute sweetheart: she comes looking for affection every evening now, and we're beginning to see her purr and knead, which is just delightful. We're also starting to see Poppy relax with us on the sofa now and then, so she's becoming more trusting in her own time. As she gets closer to us, she's showing a lot of interest in the food we eat - if there are biscuits or crackers around, she'll be there in no time trying to smell them!" ❤️

Lena and Poppy are looking for a loving forever home together. 🏡

They will require an adult only home, because they are a little bit shy. But once they get settled, they will make you laugh with their antics, mews, following you around (Lena), play and scritches and fusses.

I'm sure you will all remember the post about the 4 kittens who have had their ears cut. We have their mum in our care now and she will soon be available for adoption. She's a pretty grey and very sweet and friendly. If anyone would like to foster her in the short term we would be very grateful as we don't want to leave her in the vets too long. We are also looking for a foster home for her kittens as their current foster home has a change of circumstances and can't keep them much longer. Meet Gatsby and Atticus! 🩶🖤

Gatsby (gray) and Atticus (black) are brothers who are very close (and sooo handsome) and are looking for their loving 'furever home' together as a dynamic duo! They’re not quite 8-months old yet, and they're such sweet natured boys who love to play and will definitely appreciate you joining in! 🥳

They’ve been overlooked by potential adopters as they tend to be a bit shy, but we have seen that more confident and snuggly side of them in their foster home, so we know how loving and fun they can be. We've found that a bit of chicken usually helps! 😉

Gatsby is the bravest of the two and he will be sidling up to you for cuddles fairly early on, and Atticus will take a bit longer to trust you (although you can tell he really wants to, and when he’s sleepy he’s happy to be petted).😴

We’re looking for a wonderful, calm person, or family, who doesn’t mind that the boys are likely to need some time to get to know you and settle in. We're looking for someone who can love them for the wonderful little characters they are - we certainly do! 🥰

WANTED: HOMES FOR FERAL CATS 🐈🐈‍⬛

We desperately need people with farmland, small holdings, stables or large country estates who can adopt some of our lovely feral cats permanently. Or perhaps you work at a garden centre, historical property, or even a micro brewery? 🏰

Anywhere you may find mice and rats would massively benefit from having some of our savvy mousers around! Just the presence of cats can make a difference to your mouse population (even if they are not highly skilled mousers)! 🐁🐀

ℹ️ What do we mean with 'feral cats'? ℹ️
A feral cat is one that is born in the wild (in the case of London: on the street) and has had no human contact. The main difference between a feral and a domesticated cat is a fear of humans. They are not wild or mean, just shy and afraid. Although they don't want to live with humans in their homes, they deserve a safe place to live and thrive, just as much as domesticated cats. Could you provide a safe home for them? 💖

What you need:
✔️ A suitable secure place (barn, shed, some indoor space) to keep the cats in for a few weeks before they can be released onto your peoperty.
✔️ To provide clean water and food once a day.
✔️ Dry shelter
✔️ To be ideally maximum 2 hours travelling distance from west London.

Mini colony in Greenford - How many cats can you count?

🔍LOOKING FOR HOMES ON FARMS, MANSIONS, COUNTRY ESTATES, HISTORIC PROPERTIES FOR CATS IN NEED 🔎

A kind lady contacted us about a colony of 12 or 13 cats that she is feeding from her back garden. Most of the cats used to belong to her neighbours, but when they moved out they abandoned the cats and left them to fend for themselves.💔

Thankfully, this generous lady together with her husband and daughter have been feeding them and looking out for them. 🍜

But of course, you guessed it: None of these cats have been spayed or neutered. So as much as they are being fed, they need that special operation to make sure this gang doesn't go from 12 to 30 in the next few months! Some of them we think are still kittens, meaning some of the original cats have already given birth, and we think some of them may already be pregnant (we can't be sure). So these guys urgently need their operations ✂️

On top of that, the lady and her family are renting the house they live in, and the landlord is looking to sell. Needless to say, there is no way they can take 12 or 13 cats with them to their next place. 📦

So we were contacted with a plea for help 🆘

We need to get these guys spayed and neutered asap before they produce more cats, and they need to be rehomed. They are sadly not socialised to humans as far as we can tell, so we need people with land, farms, mansions (all the people with castles and mansions: raise your hands now 😂) (no, but seriously!) so they can live freely, but carefully monitored and fed. Some of them may eventually warm to people and become more domesticated, but we cannot be certain. 🏰

Whether you have a hay barn that needs some savvy mousers, or run a historical property that could do with some feline surveillance, these mewers will be an amazing addition to your property 😎

They will all be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and chipped before they arrive with you. ✅

Some of our followers may remember the three black cats Wendy, Peter and Michael who were found abandoned with their ears cut.

We have now taken in four more with cut ears from the same area. Three boys: Cookie, Bear and Ollie, and one girl: Luna. They are all very sweet and friendly so must have had a home, if you can call it a home.

They are settling well into their foster home and will be available for adoption soon.

The photo is of Luna with her brother Cookie. The damage to their ears is cosmetic and has no effect on their hearing.

Thank you all for your messages of support about the kittens. All are safe and being cared for in a foster home. Thank you to those people who have offered to help with fostering, we will get back to you all. If we can get a few new foster homes on stream we will be able to take in other cats/kittens that need us.

Dear All. Our foster homes are full and we are turning animals away every day which is heart breaking. And then yesterday five 4- week-old kittens were dumped in a bin at a bin store to a block of flats. So what do we do? Turn a blind eye? Say we can't help and leave them to die? Of course not, we've picked them up and they are being bottle fed and encouraged to wean. Now we need to find the mother cat who apparently, we discover today, was subsequently thrown out by the owner. She will be full of milk and calling for her kittens. Also the day before somebody with an 8 week old kitten she didn't want said she would put it out on the street if we didn't take it. So we have that kitten as well.
Please please if you have a spare room and love cats would you consider fostering for us?

Is there a tummy more tempting and scrumptious than the tummy of Bobbi Bear? We think not! What a wonderful boy he is! 🧸

Bobbi Bear is 4 years old and the sweetest, friendliest, chubby cheeked tabby there is. More seal/bear than cat, Bobbi Bear has big paws and little squeaks for meows and is simply adorable. 🐾🎶

As you can see, Bobbi has lots of love to give and a desire for belly rubs!! 😻

Bobbi Bear is FiV positive, but is as healthy as can be! There’s no reason why he can’t live a long and normal healthy life with the right people looking after for him. Meet Pastel and William!! 🩶🩷

Pretty Pastel! She has come SUCH a long way. From the little p**p covered teeny tiny baby that first arrived in her foster home hissing and hiding from us, Pastel has grown into a confident, snuggly, affectionate little lady with the most adorable little strut. So much attitude in this little mewer, she is brilliant. And her pink ears!!! She makes us melt!

Sweet little William is such a bubba!!! He is our little shy guy, but he is getting so big and strong and confident, each day sees him improving and loving life a little more - it's so precious to see!

He loves his sister Pastel, and they would definitely need to be adopted together. They play, chase each other, have a little play fight, but when he has had enough he will come and find a human for snuggles, scritches and love. He is just adorable!

If you’re a rabbit owner, you might have heard the term ‘flystrike’ mentioned, but what is it?

Flystrike happens when flies lay their eggs on your rabbit & those eggs hatch into maggots. Maggots from blowflies: bluebottles and green bottles, are the most dangerous. They can eat into your rabbit’s flesh within 24 hours which can cause death in a very short time 😢

It’s important to remember that prevention is better than cure.

- Check your rabbit’s bottom daily, more often in summer.
- Keep their environment clean.
- Apply Rearguard or a similar product.
- If your rabbit has a wound, keep it clean and dry.

If you suspect your rabbit has Flystrike, then a trip to an emergency vet is required.
