Morning everyone,
We were called out to Lyde Green ( building site near Sainsburys) to attend a badly injured cat. He appears to be a stray.
He is between 4 and 8 years of age, black with white socks. He is not neutered and is a very well developed male cat with large typical jowls.
If he is known to the area or if he has an owner please could they let us know by emailing us on [email protected].
UPDATE (31/07/2024):
🌈 Rest in Peace, "Stray Steve" 🌈
Thank you to everyone who commented on our previous post and offered help. We deeply appreciate your kindness and support.
Yesterday, we anesthetised "Steve" to conduct further diagnostics and assess his injuries. Unfortunately, when Martin Brice, our Oral and Dental Advanced Practitioner, examined him and took additional X-rays, a second jaw fracture was discovered. This fracture was associated with a very poor prognosis, and there was a reasonable chance that he would never be able to eat again.
After much consideration, we made the difficult decision to euthanise him before he woke up. "Steve" passed peacefully, surrounded by care and compassion.
We are saddened that a better outcome was not possible, but we find comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain. Thank you to everyone who helped and supported us through this challenging time.
Rest in Peace, sweet "Steve." You will be missed. 🌹
