🌟Little Beryl 🌟Last week, Beryl visited us for a dental procedure. During her initial consultation, we noticed she was missing some of her first premolars. This can sometimes be a sign of unerupted teeth, which need to be investigated with radiographs to rule out the risk of dentigerous cysts.

Beryl was feeling a little anxious about her visit, so Martin stepped in to provide some extra TLC. 🥰 He gently carried her while she drifted off to sleep, making sure she felt as comfortable as possible. 💕

Dental health is so important for our furry friends, and we're here to ensure every patient receives the best care (and cuddles!) possible. 🦷🐾

📣 Patient Spotlight: Sulley 🐾🦷

Meet Sulley, our brave superstar who visited us for a dental procedure! During a routine health check, the vet spotted a fractured incisor that needed attention.

After taking radiographs of all Sulley's teeth, we gave them a thorough clean and carefully extracted the damaged tooth. Sulley handled it all like a champ and is now on the road to a healthier, happier smile! 🐶✨

🐱 Little Spud, our inquisitive superstar! ❤️
Spud came to see us recently, and during her exam, our vet noticed that her gums were quite inflamed. She was diagnosed with juvenile gingivitis, a condition that can sometimes affect young cats.
A few weeks ago, Spud had her first treatment, which included a thorough dental clean-up. Today, she came back for her second set of radiographs and another dental clean — and we're thrilled to report that her gums are already showing big improvements! 🎉
What is juvenile gingivitis?
Juvenile gingivitis is inflammation of the gums seen in younger cats, often linked to plaque build-up and their developing immune systems. Early treatment, including dental cleaning and plaque control, is key to preventing more serious dental issues later on.
Top tips for your cat’s dental health:
🦷 Regular vet checks to catch issues early
🪥 Introduce dental care routines such as brushing with cat-safe toothpaste
🍽️ Consider dental diets or toys that reduce plaque build-up
📞 Seek veterinary advice if you notice bad breath, red gums, or changes in eating habits

We had the absolute pleasure of seeing Marginated tortoises Eddy and Adventurous for their check-ups before hibernation. 💚
It’s really important to make sure tortoises are fit and healthy before their big winter sleep. A quick health check helps us confirm they’re the right size and free from any problems. We also recommend bringing along a faecal sample to check for parasites—it’s better to hibernate without those pesky passengers!
Eddy and Adventurous were bright, cheerful, and passed their checks with flying colours. Now they’re all set for a cosy, restful hibernation. Sweet dreams, you two! 💤

We're thrilled to announce that Emmanuel has officially passed his RCVS board exams and is now fully qualified to practice as a veterinary surgeon in the UK! 👏 Emmanuel joined Emersons Green Vets in 2023 as an International Trainee Veterinary Surgeon and has since become an integral part of our team with his passion, dedication, and enthusiasm for animal care.

Originally from Nigeria, Emmanuel is not only committed to his profession but also loves community service, mentorship, and exploring new places and cultures. When he's not at the clinic, you can find him diving into documentaries or out traveling, broadening his knowledge of different landscapes and cuisines! 🌍📚
