🐾 Did you know? Pets are experts at hiding pain, making it tricky to spot dental disease early. Keeping an eye out for these symptoms can help keep your pet happy and healthy:
✅ Persistent bad breath (beyond just ‘treat breath’)
✅ Bleeding or swollen gums
✅ Difficulty eating or dropping food
✅ Unexplained weight loss
No one likes toothache! Give your pet the care they deserve while saving money with our Pet Smile Month promotion. 💚
Meet Charlie 🧡🐶
Isn’t he handsome? ☺️
Charlie is our Nurse Shanna’s own dog and he was in today to see our senior surgeon Melania 👩⚕️ for his booster vaccination 💉. While Charlie was with us today, vet Melania also carried out an orthopaedic assessment and discovered that Charlie has a grade 1 luxating patella! Surgery is not necessary at this stage as this can be managed at home with pain relief 💊

Beautiful Bibi! 🩷
Bibi came in for her dental procedure today and had 3 teeth removed. The procedure went smoothly and she was closely monitored and kept warm during recovery by our nursing team.

Diseases of the teeth and gums are common in cats. Studies report that between 50 and 90% of cats older than four years of age suffer from some form of dental disease, but fortunately the most common forms of these diseases are largely preventable or treatable with appropriate preventive dental care and monitoring.
It’s important to check your cat’s teeth and gums regularly because most cats try their best to hide pain, so often don’t show symptoms of dental disease until it’s very severe.
It’s also important to have any dental problems treated promptly because, left untreated, they can lead to other issues such as kidney disease and heart disease.
