Check your dogs after they have been for a walk. Check their ears and the fur around them, check between their toes and any areas of long fur that they have.

***Update: The cat has been found***

Have you seen this cat?

Her name is Peanut and is a Torbie. Peanut is microchipped but does not wear a collar. She is 7 years old and was last seen yesterday morning.

She is friendly but can also be scared of people. She usually comes home after a few hours but has not and this is really unlike her. She has gone missing from the N21 postcode. Numbers to call if she has been seen are (Steph) 07758511989, (Alex) 07484603982 or the Village Vet Winchmore Hill practice 02083602020.

When it’s 22°C outside, within an hour the temperature in a car can reach an unbearable and deadly 47°C. Should your dog’s body temperature exceed 41°C, it can prove fatal, and this can happen in as little as 20 minutes. Think how frightening that must be, with no way of escape. Please share to raise awareness

**Stray cat found - Please share**

We had a tortoiseshell female cat brought to our practice yesterday. She was found with an injury on her back, looks quite young and otherwise in good condition.

Unfortunately, she has no collar or microchip. She was found in the N22 area. If you have any information that can help us reunite the cat with her owner, please call us at 020 8360 2020.

This is Phoebe, she is a gorgeous and super friendly cocker spaniel. She was rescued from the RSPCA in April and her history is pretty unknown.

She came in last week with diarrhoea, a very common problem in all dogs, but unexpectedly we felt a mass present in her abdomen. After an ultrasound, she was taken to surgery to explore the mass and it turns out a swab had been left inside her belly after her spay. It had attached itself to her intestines and due to some disruption of blood supply, we had to remove a small section of her intestines.

This is a risky procedure as many animals can develop infections following the surgery, however, she was such a trooper, was eating later on that night and bounced back super quickly!

It has been almost a week since her surgery and everything went well, no sign of infections. Fortunately, this type of problem is extremely rare but as with any profession, mistakes can happen! Here is a photo of Phoebe after she woke up from her surgery!

World Animal Day unites the animal welfare movement, mobilising it into a global force to make the world a better place for all animals. **Update: This lovely cat has been reunited with the owner. Thank you for everyone who shared this post.**

He is roughly between 12-18 months old, healthy ginger male. We have just castrated him. Very friendly and affectionate but a little nervous around other animals. He had a poorly eye which we have given antibiotics for and it’s looking much better now.
