We are the only veterinary school in the world to hold full accreditation from AVMA, EAVE, RCVS, AVBC and our biological science courses are accredited by the Royal Society of Biology. Our programmes are of international appeal and attract students from all over the world. Our graduates go on to become practicing veterinarians, research scientists, veterinary nurses and leaders in industry and government. The College owns and manages the London BioScience Innovation Centre; which was London's first centre for early stage life science companies. This puts the College at the heart of biotechnology and other biomedical research in London and opens doors for research collaboration.

πŸ• Researchers from the RVC working in collaboration with the University of Cambridge have found that anti-seizure drugs (ASD) increase appetite in dogs with epilepsy. This often results in these medicated dogs becoming overweight or obese. As well as having higher food drive, epileptic dogs on treatment are more likely to be given treats to help administer medication and to be less active.

🐎 The RVC has installed a new advanced Computed Tomography (CT) scanner in its Equine Referral Hospital, allowing vets to better diagnose and treat conditions in horses.

The new CT enables the scanning of regions of the body that were previously not possible and will therefore enhance the visualisation of disease processes, aiding earlier diagnosis and treatment to improve prognosis.

The CT scanner was funded by donations from trusts and legacies facilitated by the RVC’s charity, Royal Veterinary College Animal Care Trust.
