🌟 Unlock Your Dog’s Potential with “Soothe Strange Reactivity”! 🌟

Are you ready to transform your dog’s behavior and create a calmer, more relaxed companion?

This is just the tip of the iceberg! In my upcoming program, I’ll equip you with the tools to navigate challenging situations—whether it’s during walks, busy public spaces, or when visitors come knocking at your door.

🐾 What You’ll Learn:

- How to interpret your dog’s body language and subtle signals to prevent reactivity before it starts.

- Effective techniques using treats, lead handling, and settling exercises for a calmer dog around strangers, both outside and at home.

- Strategies to alleviate fear, anxiety, and frustration in your dog.

I recently worked with a rescue dog who struggled with aggression towards visitors, and after just one session, she was happy to accept me as a visitor into her home! I can teach you how.

Imagine having a dog that is calm and collected on walks and when welcoming guests - it’s absolutely possible!

Small dog, big personality!? 🐶✨

Here are 5 essential tips to help your small dog avoid “small dog syndrome.”

Just because they’re tiny it doesn’t mean behaviours like barking, lunging, or growling should be ignored.

These are signs that your dog might not be feeling happy or secure, and they deserve the same support and guidance as any big dog 🐕❤️

Behaviour issues are your dog’s way of communicating how they feel.

So, whether it’s a Chihuahua growling or a greyhound barking, both need our attention and care.

As you see there can be different reasons why your dog is reacting to a dog they know 🐾🐶

While reactivity is never fun, it can impact our own social relations when your dog is reactive to, for example, dogs of your friends or family who you see often. It is understandable if this brings up embarrassment, shame or frustration.

But remember that your dog’s behaviour is their way to tell you what they are feeling. They are asking for your support and guidance. 💙

In my 6 week programme Reactivity Relief I will teach you how to read your dog’s language and how to help them in situations they would normally be reactive in. ✨

We start on 11th November and have a nice group of dogs and their guardians signed up already. I am so excited!

I am very passionate about this programme as I know how much reactivity can affect you and your dog’s wellbeing. I also know from many years of experience as a clinical animal behaviourist and guiding many clients, that it doesn’t have to be this way. If you have any questions about the programme, please feel free to each out. Link in bio to book!

These are 5️⃣ signs you may see if your dog is reactive to unfamiliar dogs🐕 🐶

Some are clear, like growling or snapping, and others are more subtle, like squeaky barking or hiding.

We often think reactivity means reacting TO another dog, but running away or hiding is still a reactivity issue.

If your dog is showing one or more of these signs, I want to tell you: it doesn’t have to be this way.

Reactivity is a very common dog behaviour issue and can greatly affect you and your dog’s life, but a few simple steps can help you and your dogs to go from stressful and reactive walks to easy and comfortable walks.

Reactivity Relief starts on 11th November, my 6 week programme for guardians and their reactive dogs.

The early bird discount (£100 off) ends SUNDAY. If you want to know more, check out the website or book in a free call to discuss your dog’s behaviour 🐾

We all want to be the best guardian to our dog, but we don’t always know how to do that. Here are 7 simple tips to be the guardian your dog needs. All these tips are central in all my behaviour offers, whether we are focussing on soothing separation anxiety or reactivity relief.

Reactive dogs aren’t naughty and here’s why:

🐕 They’re feeling an emotion strongly or several emotions at once and they’re trying to communicate what they are feeling.

💥 They’ve learned from past experiences that this behaviour ‘works’ to get their point across, because maybe their subtle signs weren’t noticed.

🤯 Reactions then get bigger, quicker to start and harder to stop or recover from, as the dog learns to use them in more different situations.

If you are looking for support for your dog’s reactivity, please click the link in my bio for ways to work with me.

18/09/2024

ANYONE can set themselves up as a dog ‘behaviourist’ or ‘trainer’ with no qualifications or training at all, right now in the UK and other places. It’s not a legally regulated industry (yet), hopefully it will be soon! 🤯

To ensure your dog is seen by someone who is qualified, has the practical skills and only uses ethical techniques, look for an accredited clinical animal behaviourist, veterinary behaviourist, or dog trainer 🐶🐾

An accredited behaviourist must see all of their behaviour cases following a vet referral, which involves your vet completing a form or email to say that your dog is healthy (or they share the medical history if not) and pass them to receive behaviourist support.

⚠️ If the ‘behaviourist’ you’re looking to work with doesn’t require a vet referral, it’s a warning sign that they may not be accredited, they may not have the experience or knowledge needed. They may even advocate using harmful techniques.
