Dog theft is on the rise!

Since lockdown v1.0, the demand for dogs has risen significantly, bring the prices up to 1000's of pounds even for some adult cross breeds.

Unfortunately where there is money there is crime.

Please be vigilant.

Do not leave your pups unattended at any time, even in your garden no matter how secure you believe them to be.

Do not engage in too much small talk with strangers asking questions such as what is there name, are the neutered, what breed are they.

Ensure their chip data is up to date.

Mix up their walking times an routes.

Walk in well lit, populated spaces and where possible not alone.

Look out for suspicious activity, such as, unexpected callers to your home, people posing as animal inspectors or RSPCA officials and people approaching you from vehicles.

Call 101 immediately.

A lot of this may seen like common sense but helps to be reminded.

Stay safe.

Remember in this weather keep dogs in the shade, don't walk them on the pavements when it is hot, if it is too hot for your hand it is too hot for their paws. Take water with you on your walks, for you and your dogs. Try to find a shady walk and don't over exercise them as dogs suffer more in the heat. Please please leave your dogs at home when going shopping, never leave your dog in the car in hot weather even leaving the windows open the dog can suffer and die.
