Compulsory Microchipping for all pet cats is here!!!!!!!

What does this mean?

*Cats must be implanted with a microchip before they reach the age of 20weeks
*Owners contact details must be registered and stored and up to date on an approved microchip database
*An estimated 2.8 million cats in the UK are not microchipped
*After the 10th June 2024, an owner could face a fine up to £500 if their cat is not microchipped.

MISSING CAT ALERT!
Hi all… Our beautiful little Jacki has been missing all day!😢
This is out of character for her as she never usually ventures far from home.
She’s 10months old, neutered and microchipped. Very friendly but quite timid.
Please keep a look out and check sheds/garages please as her family at the surgery are worried about her and missing her madly.

Found on Winterbourne road yesterday. No microchip. He is an entire male approximately 1 year old. We do suspect he has had some trauma. If you recognise this beautiful boy, please call us on 0208 764 1254.

As promised we have been working on establishing which of our cottages and houses are going to be the most secure and suitable for XL bullys (and any dogs coming under that category).

Our owners have all been very sympathetic to the owners of the dogs that are affected ❤️ Most of them have their own dogs so can really appreciate how difficult this is.

As you know, all of our cottages have enclosed outside areas, some deemed very secure for many dogs BUT they are not all going to be suitable and some have insurance restrictions.

The ones we have identified have have high solid fencing (5ft+) with solid gates that are lockable from the inside so no one can access the garden from outside. We cannot (and never would) guarantee that they are 100% secure for all dogs but they are well fenced and not accessible from the outside.

Watch out for a post later today with the cottages on that we hope will work for you.

In the meantime, it would be so lovely to see photos of your dogs if they are affected by this legislation. ❤️
