British Veterinary Association - BVA

British Veterinary Association - BVA BVA is the national representative body for veterinary surgeons in the UK.

We guide our members throughout their careers, from student to retirement, with the support and knowledge they need to achieve their goals, and to speak up for them on the issues that matter most. ⚠️ However, a legal loophole still allows the import of dogs with such mutilations into the UK.

That’s why we are lobbying for the to be passed as soon as possible to .

You can help clamp down on the import of animals with harmful mutilations. Download our template letter and send it to your local MP, urging them to support the Animal Welfare (Import of Dogs, Cats & Ferrets) Bill as it progresses through Parliament πŸ‘‰ https://ow.ly/nb6z50UZqs4

A huge shoutout to the veterinary professionals who go above and beyond - day and night - to care for our animals.

Saving a life at 4am 🫢

Our small animal hospital in Frome never sleeps. Our team of vets and nurses is available 24/7, and it includes the same professionals you see during your pets' appointments at our different sites during the day. Additionally, we have a dedicated night nurse who stays awake to provide exceptional patient care throughout the night.

We are happy to report that the emergency surgery performed on this patient saved her life, thanks to our team's quick response and dedication in the early hours of the morning.
