Behind the scenes at TLCC! 🐈‍⬛

Before anesthesia, we carry out a thorough TPR check—(Temperature, Pulse, and Respiratory rate) to help ensure our feline patients are stable and ready for their procedure.

This crucial step helps us keep them safe and comfortable throughout the process.

“Let me get a closer look at your teeth…🐾

Hmm, we might have to get Dr Rob! Did you know that over 70% of us felines over the age of five show signs of dental disease?

This can lead to discomfort, difficulty eating, and even impact our vital organs!

Visit https://shorturl.at/QCzfP to read the latest blog about dental health in older felines”.

May the festivities continue! 🎄 A very Merry Christmas Day from all of us at The London Cat Clinic!

Here is a little safety reminder to keep your celebrations worry-free.✨

Tinsel, ribbon, and string-like decorations may be irresistible to cats, but they can cause serious blockages (sometimes even fatal) if swallowed—We’ve already seen a few cases this year, so make sure these are out of reach. 🎁

🚨 Subtle signs to watch for: Your cat might sleep more than usual, hide away, or refuse food. If you notice anything unusual, contact your vet immediately.

Thank you for reading. Now, back to the festivities! 🐈‍⬛🎄

“Are you keeping warm? Excellent. Us felines may have fur, but we can still develop hypothermia and even frostbite during the cold! 🐾

Here are a few tips to help keep us safe this winter:”

❄️ Keep your cat indoors during severe cold, especially at night.
❄️ Ensure the cat flap is free from ice and snow for easy access.
❄️ Check their ears, paws, and tails for signs of frostbite such as pale or greyish skin.
❄️ Ensure water bowls don’t freeze—use heated bowls or check frequently.

In addition, don’t forget:
❄️Antifreeze is deadly—use safer alternatives and ensure chemicals are stored securely.
❄️ Always tap the bonnet of your car before starting; cats may seek shelter inside.

Let’s help our pals stay cozy and safe this winter 🐈‍⬛

“Clear my calendar, I’m going climbing!”🎄🐾

While we love to encourage our feline friends to follow their natural instincts, the Christmas season can bring a lot of hidden dangers.

🌟 Secure your tree with a heavy base to prevent it from tipping over.
🌟 Place fragile or breakable ornaments near the top of the tree, out of reach of playful paws.
🌟 Skip the tinsel—it’s tempting to chew but can cause life-threatening blockages if swallowed.
🌟 Cover tree water to prevent your cat from drinking it—it may contain harmful chemicals or bacteria.
🌟 Protect electrical cords with covers and turn off Christmas lights when unattended.

With a few simple precautions, you can enjoy a safe and festive holiday season with your feline friend by your side.

Behind the scenes with Dr Jeremy, supported by RVN Mikayala and VCA Shannen, as they carry out an endoscopy to investigate a feline patient’s gastrointestinal system.

These advanced tools give us a detailed view of the fascinating ‘inner space’—from the ears and nose to the stomach and intestines—unlocking vital insights for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

At TLCC, we combine advanced techniques with compassionate care to support the health and comfort of our feline patients 🐾
