Lovely Libella was in recently for an eye assessment withDr Anna Isaenkova, after her owner noticed some changes following a playful session with her feline friend. Her right eye appeared sore, so we carried out a thorough examination to check for any damage to the surface of the eye. Fortunately, there were no marks, but some swelling was present, so Libella was prescribed eye drops to help things settle.

Dr Anna also took the opportunity to carry out Libella’s routine six-month health check to make sure everything else was in tip-top shape.

If you ever notice a change in your cat’s eyes, cloudiness, redness, squinting, closing of the eye or discharge, it’s important to have them assessed promptly, as eye conditions can worsen quickly if left untreated.

☀️ Open windows. Warmer weather. Greater risks for your cat.
Every summer, we treat cats who’ve fallen from windows or balconies, often with serious injuries.

It's known as high-rise syndrome, and it's entirely preventable.
Here are five simple ways to protect your cat this season:

• Install secure window screens or restrictors
• Never leave your cat unattended on balconies
• Provide indoor enrichment to keep them stimulated
• Use tilt windows safely — never wide open
• Consider a “catio” for safe outdoor access

Summer should be a season of comfort, not crisis. 🐾

Didion may look unimpressed, but rest assured, she adores Dr. Anna (as do we!). Her signature expression is all part of her charm. Didion came in for her routine check-up today and, despite her famously stoic face, was an absolute star. 🐾

At The London Cat Clinic, we celebrate every cat’s unique personality, and Didion’s is delightfully one of a kind!

A Day in the Life of Tommy 🐾

Meet Tommy. The spirited, whiskered whirlwind who’s brought boundless energy and joy into the life of our ophthalmologist, Ursula.

Adopted at just a few months old, Tommy is now around 7 months and full of life (and mischief!). We love seeing the bonds that form between our team and their feline companions!

Tommy has a way of brightening every room, hopefully these snapshots bring you a little of that same joy!

Meet Penny 🐾

Penny visited us for her pre-anaesthetic appointment ahead of her upcoming dental procedure.

As part of our routine protocol, we carry out pre-anaesthetic blood tests to ensure that our patients are fit and healthy for general anaesthesia. These tests help us identify any underlying concerns that may not be visible during a physical examination.

If any abnormalities are detected, we have time to carry out further investigations or begin treatment before proceeding. In some cases, we may decide to delay the procedure to ensure the safest outcome.

These blood tests are typically booked up to five weeks prior to the planned procedure. This timeframe allows us to fully assess and address any issues that may arise. All blood samples are taken from the jugular vein, which involves clipping a small area of fur on the neck. To minimise any discomfort, we apply EMLA cream (a topical anaesthetic) to numb the area before the sample is taken.

Penny was incredibly calm and comfortable throughout her appointment. She didn’t require any restraint from a nurse, which helps to reduce stress and ensure a positive experience.

We are pleased to report that Penny is all set for her procedure, and we look forward to helping her feel her best.

A little hello from Woody, a gorgeous 1½-year-old Domestic Shorthair.🐾
Woody came in to see Dr. Anna Minoli for his routine 6-month health check.

Regular check-ups like this are an important part of preventative care, helping us catch any potential issues early and keep our feline patients feeling their best.
Woody was a star patient and received a thorough examination from nose to tail—he’s in great health and back home enjoying his day.

Thank you to Woody’s family for trusting us with his care!

All smiles at last week’s Culture Day! 🥳

To celebrate 8 incredible years of The London Cat Clinic, our team took some well-deserved time out to connect, laugh, and roll up our sleeves for a fun-filled pasta-making experience! 🍝❤️

Moments like these remind us how important it is to nurture not just our work, but our workplace culture. Spending time together outside the clinic helps strengthen the bonds that allow us to care for our patients and each other, with compassion and excellence every day.

As we mark this milestone, we remain rooted in the values that have guided us from day one:
Commitment, Accountability, Trust, and a constant Strive for Excellence.

Here’s to many more years of growing, learning, and sharing joy—both in and out of the clinic. 🐾
