Last year I visited .raeburn in his studio in Hackney. I bought his excess technical fabrics and took these on the bus back to my studio in Camberwell.
Recycling existing materials promotes a circular economy and in this case a small business like mine benefits from the use of fabrics I wouldn’t usually be able to purchase.
The above fleece fabric was bought directly from a mill in Italy for a collection. In order to buy this fleece myself I’d have to meet a minimum order quantity (probably 100’s of metres) and pay giant import charges due to Brexit!
Dead-stock fabric has its limitations - it’s not limitless! We only have a limited amount of this fabric and so this fleece is limited edition!
