Ya tenemos los primeros pasos! A 2-3 repeticiones correctas cambiamos el tamaño del target (rojo) haciéndolo más pequeño para que vaya asociando el olor de la tarjeta. La próxima sesión empezamos con el target mas pequeño y terminaremos dejando solo la tarjeta.

Practicing the beginning of the search.
With Duna I want a calm and controlled start. (we don't need any more drive) and I use my hand to pinpoint where I want her to start searching.
With Nix I use the ball to keep her focused on it and keep the "momentum" between search-reward-search to help with her determination. Her search is not as impressive as Duna's but I am happy with her. She searches for long periods without loosing concentration ☺️☺️
Nix used to be distracted with anything while she was searching. Now she can search even while Duna is playing around with a ball. She still needs a lot of work but she has made me grow as a trainer. 😍
Long time without practicing the brick wall as we have focused much more on free searches (big and small) And very happy of how they have both worked.
I love the focus and concentration I have been able to build with Duna. She used to start the search with too much craziness. And with Nix I had to do the opposite. Build more drive at the beginning of the search and gradually make the searches longer while keeping the intensity

Sometimes we focus too much about systematic searches, indication, blind and double blind searches, collecting data, hides, bricks, line ups and many more things and we don't focus enough about making it fun for the dogs.
Play more hunting games and your dogs will thank you 😃

Próximamente tendremos nuestra tercera prueba de detección deportiva el día 21 de Mayo. Exámenes para los niveles 1, 2 y 3 de la ADSW. Entrega de diplomas y escarapelas de cada nivel. Pásate a ver en qué consiste la detección deportiva y te explicaremos cualquier duda que tengas sobre este apasionante deporte para tu compañero.

If dopamine is at its highest just before achieving a reward and not right after getting it, the closer a dog is to get a reward, the more dopamine is released.
I guess that would be during indication?
Then isn't that another good reason to train a solid final trained response? The more they stay at source the higher is the anticipation so more dopamine is released?
When they are at source I can see how their muscles get tense and I can feel the joy of anticipation.
I am not a geek so I l'd love some feedback and thoughts 😬

We are working at back of the car and chaining it to one of the sides.
I am also placing targets under the car and above their heads so they check everywhere. Next search we will chain 3 sides left, back and right a d hopefully next week we will do the whole car.
